Abstract: The present invention provides coating compositions having a crosslinker and a poly(carbonate polyol). Such coating compositions may be usefully employed in thermosetting applications for the production of coatings for consumer products.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pre-accelerated resin composition, characterized in that the resin composition comprises an unsaturated polyester resin and/or a vinyl ester resin, a soluble copper compound and a heterocyclic aromatic amine and which resin composition is essentially free of cobalt. The present invention further relates to a two component composition in which the first component comprises such a resin composition and in which the second component comprises an organic peroxide.
Abstract: The present invention provides a spreadable gel which comprises 0.5 to 8 wt % of an amylomaltase treated starch, 0.5 to 8 wt % of a waxy starch, water and optionally a basic ingredient such as fruit, vegetable or soy.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fibrous tape comprising fused polymeric fibers, said fibrous tape having a tape thickness and a tape width and being characterized by a coefficient of variation (CV) of the tape thickness across the tape width of at most 6%.

Abstract: The present invention relates to frozen and freeze dried starter culture compositions comprising microorganisms. The invention also relates to methods of producing the frozen and freeze dried starter culture compositions and methods of using them.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a post extraction process for preparing low acyl gellan, comprising the steps: deacylation treatment of gellan gum-containing fermentation broth, enzyme treatment, flocculation of low acyl gellan gum with divalent or polyvalent metal cations, clarification treatment of gellan gum solution, dehydration treatment of gellan gum solution, removal of divalent or polyvalent cations and decoloration, and drying and milling. Preferably, the process comprises the step of formulating a proper amount of chelating agent/acid system before the drying and milling step to chelate the added additional divalent cations added during the use of gellan gum, and at the same time to keep the pH value in a relatively stable condition. The present invention also provides the various low acyl gellan gums prepared by the above methods. The product has the following characteristics: a good appearance, a high transmittancy, and high gel strength.
Abstract: The invention relates to anti-ballistic articles comprising a stack of sheets, each sheet having one or more mono-layers of polyethylene anti-ballistic fibers and a thermoplastic binder, wherein the specific energy absorption (SEA) of the anti-ballistic article is greater than 145 J/kg/m2 and the maximum % thickness increase, measured at about 90° C., is less than 8% after storing the article for 160 hours at 90° C.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a new process for supplementation of beverages with soluble and bio available iron in the form of ferric pyrophosphate. This process allows iron supplementation of beverages at low cost, without affecting either the original taste or the colour of the beverages. It is also directed to a concentrate ferric pyrophosphate-citrate solution and its use in the preparation of an iron enriched beverage. The invention also relates to a beverage obtainable by this process.
Abstract: Olive extracts comprising hydroxytyrosol are effective in promoting muscle health in both animals and humans which are subject to muscle damage, muscle pain and muscle soreness due to exercise. The olive extracts can decrease the accumulation of lactic acid present post-exercise, and can also work by maintaining glutathione levels.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for extracting an impurity from an organic phase comprising caprolactam, comprising extracting the impurity by washing said organic phase as a discontinuous phase with an aqueous phase as a continuous phase, the ratio of the flow of the aqueous phase in m3/hr, to the flow of the organic phase in m3/hr, being 0.05 or less. Further the invention relates to a caprolactam production plant, wherein use can be made of a process of the invention.
