  • Patent number: 10646454
Abstract: An active molecule delivery system whereby active molecules can be released on demand and/or a variety of different active molecules can be delivered from the same system and/or different concentrations of active molecules can be delivered from the same system. The active delivery system includes a plurality of microcells, wherein the microcells are filled with a medium including an active ingredient and charged or magnetic particles. The microcells include an opening, and the opening is spanned by a porous diffusion layer. Because the porous diffusion layer can be blocked with the charged or magnetic particles, the rate at which the active ingredient is dispensed can be controlled with an electric or magnetic field, respectively.

  • Patent number: 10586499
Abstract: A color display device in which each pixel can display four high-quality color states. More specifically, an electrophoretic fluid is provided which comprises four types of particles, dispersed in a solvent or solvent mixture, wherein each type of particle has a different charge profile (polarity and magnitude) and a different optical characteristic. When driven with a two-step process, the particles of lower charge magnitude can be driven to the viewing surface while the particles with higher charge magnitude are not viewable at the viewing surface.

Abstract: A display device comprises a layer of display cells separated from each other by partition walls and filled with a display fluid. The display of the invention is divided into a non-watermark area and a watermark area, the latter forming a watermark. The watermark aims to protect against counterfeiting or to be used for decoration purposes. The watermark is visible at certain viewing angles and/or under certain lighting conditions and it does not interfere with displaying of the regular images. For example, each of the display cells in the watermark area may have a different size from each of the display cells in the non-watermark area. Alternatively, the watermark area differs from the non-watermark area in at least one parameter selected from partition wall height, partition wall width and the shape of each display cell, and the watermark area is divided into at least two parts having differing values of the parameter.
