  • Patent number: 6129049
Abstract: A feeding device for feeding young pigs comprises a feeding tube (16), which may be a flexibly yielding or a rigid feeding tube. The feeding tube (16) is connected with a feed reservoir (26) and is fastened to a frame (15). The lower end (17) of the feeding tube (16) is arranged at a short distance over a feeding plate (12). Arranged around the lower end of the tube is a ring (1). The ring (1) may be manipulated by young pigs, which have a size between 5 and 13 kg, so that these animals are able to be fed by the feeding device. The feeding device will make it possible in a technically simple manner to feed young pigs.

  • Patent number: 6130984
Abstract: A variable optical attenuator controllably filters an optical signal after the signal has been expanded and collimated. The optical signals are optionally expanded and refocused by a single GRIN lens, the signal passing through a variable filter between the GRIN lens and a reflector, and again between the reflector and the GRIN lens. Both the input and output fibers can be held within a single sleeve in alignment with the GRIN lens. Alternatively, separate input and output GRIN lenses may be used. The amount of attenuation can be indicated by a potentiometer.

  • Patent number: 6128609
Abstract: A neural network is trained using a training neural network having the same topology as the original network but having a differential network output and accepting also differential network inputs. This new training method enables deeper neural networks to be successfully trained by avoiding a problem occuring in conventional training methods in which errors vanish as they are propagated in the reverse direction through deep networks. An acceleration in convergence rate is achieved by adjusting the error used in training to compensate for the linkage between multiple training data points.

  • Patent number: 6127928
Abstract: An apparatus and method are described for a radio frequency document control system that enables the location of documents, such as office files, to be automatically and rapidly identified. A host transceiver, controlled via a PC, transmits a coded RF signal, at a first frequency, to individually addressable, low cost, local exciters/transceivers located on shelves and/or in drawers. The local exciters, which may be sequentially addressed, retransmit the coded RF signal at a second frequency via an antenna. A passive radio frequency identification tag, containing the same code as that transmitted by the local exciter and attached to a document, such as a file folder, when in the vicinity of the antenna of the local exciter, is energized by the RF field and modulates the second frequency signal from the local exciter. The second frequency signal modulated by the energized tag is then directly received by the host transceiver.
