Abstract: For desalinating saline water, a solar energy collector plant comprising parabolic trough collectors is used as a heat generator. With the generated heat, a heat engine is driven by steam, wherein the heat engine drives a generator to generate electricity. The residual steam of the heat engine is used to heat a distillation device in which a first partial flow of the saline water is distilled. A second partial flow of the saline water is fed to a reverse osmosis device that is supplied with the electricity of the generator to generate pressure. After both partial flows are desalinated or partially desalinated, the two partial flows are mixed in a mixing device which thereby produces drinking water.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a solar cell electrode, comprising the steps of: (1) applying a paste comprising (a) electrically conductive particles containing silver particle having a particle size of 0.1 to 10 microns and an added particle comprising a metal alloy comprising metal particles selected from the group consisting of Mo, Tc, Ru, Rh, Pd, W, Re, Os, Ir and Pt particles onto the opposite side from the light receiving side of a back contact-type solar cell substrate, wherein content of the silver particle is 40 to 90 wt %, and content of the added particle is 0.01 to 10 wt % based on the weight of the paste; and (2) firing the applied paste.
Abstract: An air conditioning or refrigeration system includes a secondary loop cooling system for use with a vapor compression system having a bypass line in order to bypass a reservoir in the secondary loop system. This bypass allows the air conditioning or refrigeration system to cool down more quickly. The secondary loop cooling system uses a non-flammable cooling fluid, which is particularly useful when the refrigerant used in the vapor compression system is flammable.

Abstract: Disclosed is a modular platform comprising a horizontal frame that is made of four angle irons and is devised and sized to receive and support a grid on which one or more persons can stand. Four supporting legs, each made of an angle iron, are respectively connected to the four corners of the frame, and extend below the same in order to maintain it at a distance from the ground. Reinforcing pieces are positioned below the frame and connected to the supporting legs for reinforcing the platform. The platform also comprises at least two thin holding bars extending horizontally between two opposite sides of the frame, in order to support the grid on the frame while preventing it from staying directly on the angle irons forming the frame. Each supporting leg has a lower end provided with a supporting foot that is adjustable in height, and has a lower end of a round shape to reduce the contact surface with the ground. The platform structure makes the platform very easy to clean.
