Abstract: A CMOS image sensor with a many million pixel count. Applicants have developed techniques for combining its continuous layer photodiode CMOS sensor technology with CMOS integrated circuit lithography stitching techniques to provide digital cameras with an almost unlimited number of pixels. A preferred CMOS stitching technique exploits the precise alignment accuracy of CMOS stepper processes by using specialized mask sets to repeatedly produce a single pixel array pattern many times on a single silicon wafer with no pixel array discontinuities. The single array patterns are stitched together lithographically to form a pixel array of many million pixels. A continuous multilayer photodiode layer is deposited over the top of the many million pixel array to provide a many million pixel sensor with a fill factor of 100 percent or substantially 100 percent.

Abstract: The invention is an antenna for use with an implantable microdevice, such as a microstimulator or microsensor, having a dipole antenna that is formed by ceramic processes on the inner or outer surface of the ceramic case of the microdevice. The antenna receives data transmitted from an external device, and transmits data to an external device. A dipole antenna may be formed from two radiating elements separated by an insulating material. A tuning circuit comprising capacitors and/or inductors is used to obtain resonance in the dipole antenna. In a preferred embodiment, the antenna is formed of a biocompatible material by applying a metal-containing paste to the ceramic case of the microdevice and thermally processing it.

Abstract: Fluorinated ethers of aromatic acids are produced from halogenated aromatic acids in a reaction mixture containing a copper (I) or copper (II) source and a diamine ligand that coordinates to copper. The fluorinated ethers of aromatic acids made using the process described herein can be applied to, e.g., fibers, yarns, carpets, garments, films, molded parts, paper and cardboard, stone, and tile to impart soil, water and oil resistance. By incorporating the fluorinated ethers of aromatic acids, or diesters thereof, into polymer backbones, more lasting soil, water and oil resistance, as well as improved flame retardance, can be achieved.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a linear light source having light guide with taped saw tooth structures for Charge Coupling Device Module (CCDM). The linear light source comprises a light guide and at least two Light Emitting Diodes (LED's). The light guide includes two incident surfaces, a reflective surface, two refractive surfaces and an ejective surface. The reflective surface has a taped saw tooth structure; the LEDs are disposed at two ends of the light guide. Upon emission of light from the LEDs, light enters into the light guide, reflected by the taped saw tooth structures, and then ejected from the ejective surface. It is possible to form a U-shaped lambert distribution in the sub scanning direction, thereby generating the complementary effect for the pickup lens and the CCD image sensor of CCDM, as well as to create a linearly converged lambert distribution in the main scanning direction.
