Abstract: A wrist joint performance measuring device includes a base having a seat and two positioning arms on two sides of the seat. A switching device is pivotably mounted to the base. A forearm support is connected to the switching device. A measurement device includes a pivotal seat, a torque meter, a first handle, and a second handle. The pivotal seat is pivotably connected to the forearm support. The torque meter is mounted to the pivotal seat. The first handle or the second handle is connected to a force receiving end of the torque meter. The forearm support and the measurement device are movable by the switching device to one of the two positioning arms and are positioned by the one of the two positioning arms.
Abstract: Various embodiments facilitate location-aware distributed competitions. In one embodiment, a system facilitates a distributed sporting event that includes multiple players traveling over non-uniform courses that are remote from one another. The system includes a manager that receives state information, such as location information, from client devices used by each of the players. The manager then transmits location information for each of the players to the client devices, which are each configured to present a graphical representation, such as a map annotated with the locations of each of the players. The system corrects for disparities between the non-uniform courses traveled by the players, for example by mapping a location on a course traveled by a first player to a location on a course traveled by a second player. Various mechanisms for establishing the mapping between non-uniform courses are also described.
Abstract: A hovercraft includes a lift air supply source having a dynamic air flow area in communication with a central lift air chamber to provide continuous air flow to the central lift air chamber and a static air flow area in communication with an inflatable skirt extending around a periphery of the hovercraft. Air flow from the static air flow area enters the skirt to replenish air leaking from the skirt. The static air flow area has less air flow than the dynamic air flow area. The static air flow area is located at a higher position than the dynamic air flow area to reduce the likelihood of water entering the inflatable skirt when the hovercraft is operated on water.
Abstract: A conductive paste composition contains a source of an electrically conductive metal, an alkaline-earth-metal boron bismuth oxide, and an organic vehicle. An article such as a high-efficiency photovoltaic cell is formed by a process of deposition of the paste composition on a semiconductor substrate (e.g., by screen printing) and firing the paste to remove the organic vehicle and sinter the metal and alkaline-earth-metal boron bismuth oxide.
Abstract: An aircraft passenger seat having a seat bottom, a seat back, and right and left armrests. The arm rests include structural arm rest assemblies for attachment to the seat bottom, and arm rests for being removably-positioned on the structural arm rest panels. Upholstery shrouds are adapted for being positioned on and covering the right and left arm rests. The shrouds are easily removed and installed as needed.

Abstract: A method for producing a multiple-substrate stack from an, in particular wavelength-sensitive, semiconductor substrate and at least one further, in particular wavelength-sensitive, semiconductor substrate with the following steps: applying a dielectric layer, which is electrically conductive at least in certain sections, onto at least one substrate surface of at least one of the semiconductor substrates, and contacting the semiconductor substrate with the further semiconductor substrate and forming an electrically conductive connection between the semiconductor substrates.
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided which employ a silencing element that, when ingested by a pest, such as a Coleopteran plant pest or a Diabrotica plant pest, decrease the expression of a target sequence in the pest. Disclosed are various target polynucleotides set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOS: disclosed herein, (but not including the forward and reverse primers.) or variants or fragments thereof, or complements thereof, wherein a decrease in expression of one or more of the sequences in the target pest controls the pest (i.e., has insecticidal activity). Plants, plant parts, bacteria and other host cells comprising the silencing elements, variants or fragments thereof, or complements thereof, are also provided.

Abstract: A vehicle light, wherein light to be emitted by a base light source which is offset with respect to an emission surface is first conducted radially outwards in targeted manner and is then reflected in an axial direction with respect to the emission surface, uses light-conducting bodies, which are spaced apart from a deflection mirror, or a light-conducting space, which extends first radially and then axially, to obtain as light-intensive, uniform and directional light emissions as possible.

Abstract: Quinacridone pigments that are surface-functionalized with glycidyl methacrylate, maleic anhydride, or 4-methacryloxyethyl trimellitic anhydride to create a functionalized pigment. The functional groups are then activated to bond hydrophobic polymers, thereby coating the pigment with the hydrophobic polymers. The quinacridone pigments can be used for a variety of applications. They are well-suited for use in electro-optic materials, such as electrophoretic media for use in electrophoretic displays.
