Abstract: A reflective display apparatus includes a reflective display panel, a light guide plate, an elastic ring, a light permeable liquid and a holding device. The elastic ring is sandwiched between the reflective display panel and the light guide plate, and it spaces the reflective display panel and the light guide plate apart defines a space between the reflective display panel and the light guide plate. The light permeable liquid is located in the space. The holding device holds the reflective display panel and the light guide plate, thereby pressing against the elastic ring and making the elastic ring deform.
Abstract: A vehicle battery pack system includes a cable bracket that has a conductive base, and a clamp. The base includes a mount, base arm, and base bridge. The mount is configured to be mounted to an electrical ground. The base bridge defines an aperture and fixedly couples the mount to the base arm. The base arm has a concave surface. The clamp includes a clamp arm and clamp bridge. The clamp bridge defines an aperture. The clamp arm is fixedly coupled to the clamp bridge and has a concave surface opposing the concave surface of the base arm. A fastener is received through the apertures to couple the clamp to the base. A protrusion extends radially inward from at least one of the concave surfaces. The protrusion is coupled for electrical communication with the mount to transmit electricity between the protrusion and the electrical ground.

Abstract: Non-conventional yeasts are disclosed herein comprising at least one RNA-guided endonuclease (RGEN) comprising at least one RNA component that does not have a 5?-cap. This uncapped RNA component comprises a sequence complementary to a target site sequence in a chromosome or episome in the yeast. The RGEN can bind to, and optionally cleave, one or both DNA strands at the target site sequence. An example of an RGEN herein is a complex of a Cas9 protein with a guide RNA. A ribozyme is used in certain embodiments to provide an RNA component lacking a 5?-cap. Further disclosed are methods of genetic targeting in non-conventional yeast.

Abstract: The invention relates to a retaining system for handling substrate stacks, including a retaining surface for retaining a first substrate, and one or more recesses provided relative to the retaining surface, for retaining first magnetic bodies for securing the first substrate relative to a second substrate that is aligned with the first substrate. Second magnetic bodies are applied on a holding side of the second substrate.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for bonding of a first contact surface of a first substrate to a second contact surface of a second substrate with the following steps, especially the following sequence: forming a first reservoir in a surface layer on the first contact surface and a second reservoir in a surface layer on the second contact surface, the surface layers of the first and second contact surfaces being comprised of respective native oxide materials of one or more second educts respectively contained in reaction layers of the first and second substrates, partially filling the first and second reservoirs with one or more first educts; and reacting the first educts filled in the first reservoir with the second educts contained in the reaction layer of the second substrate to at least partially strengthen a permanent bond formed between the first and second contact surfaces.

Abstract: A fully integrated feedback controlled coil driver is disclosed for inductive power transfer to electronic devices. For efficient power transfer, a voltage across a switch that switchably couples the coil between a DC input power source and ground is sampled and compared with a preselected reference voltage to generate an error voltage. The error voltage is integrated over time and compared to a voltage ramp. The value of the integrated error voltage relative to the voltage ramp is used to obtain an optimal on time for the switch such that coil current is maximized for a given DC input power. The coil driver can also provide ASK modulation on the coil current by changing the size of the switch according to input data.

Abstract: A method to operate a system in support of air traffic control of an airport provides, automatically, to operators, in the same screen, status information for the systems required during low visibility operation, meteorological information and runway category of operation, making easier the operation of the controller and increasing airport security. The method comprises monitoring the status of all low visibility operation systems, calculation of a category more convenient for the operation of the airport runway, and degradation automatic (down grade) when it degrades a key system and upgrade or downgrade manually the category by operator decision. The method includes an architecture oriented for high availability with three blocks (Management, Input/Output and Visualization) and uses an application “alive” that performs automatic switching between servers, in case of failure or malfunction of one of them, increasing the availability of the system.
