  • Publication number: 20080141140
Abstract: The present invention is a method for accessing the worldwide network by using software installed in each user's equipment generating a control and a proper screen, the so-called connection media. Navigating through the Internet allows the transmission of data about the duration of connection and the user's data to a service provider. In the preferred embodiment of the invention an advertiser can place their advertisement on that proper screen, the so-called connection media, and pay for the real time of exhibition, that is, for duration of each user's connection. The novelty of this invention is to allow an advertisement to be permanently exhibited and visualized irrespective of the page being visited by the user.

  • Publication number: 20080136774
Abstract: A dielectrophoretic display is shifted from a low frequency closed state to a high frequency open state via at least one, and preferably several, intermediate frequency states; the use of such multiple frequency steps reduces flicker during the transition. A second type of dielectrophoretic display has a light-transmissive electrode through which the dielectrophoretic medium can be viewed and a conductor connected to the light-transmissive electrode at several points to reduce voltage variations within the light-transmissive electrode.

  • Publication number: 20080139947
Abstract: Methods for providing online health monitoring and accumulating data from patients worldwide, and accompanying apparatus for using the same, are disclosed. Such monitoring is particularly useful for both diagnosing and prescribing preventive medical treatment, and is particularly suited for the field of cardiovascular health care. Preferred methods and devices include using a sensitive acoustic device, such as an electret, to analyze a patient's cardiovascular functions from a location such as a public computer kiosk, a doctor's office or a patient's home computer. The data may be downloaded from the acoustic device to a central database located, for example, on the Internet. The data may be retrieved by the patient, or upon instructions from the patient, may be transferred to or accessed by doctors for purposes of diagnosis, monitoring and treatment. The data may, in addition, include demographic and like data for each patient and preferably be stored while maintaining the anonymity of each patient.

  • Publication number: 20080135358
Abstract: A brake actuator has a motor that provides input rotation in first and second directions. A reducer couples to the motor and reduces the input rotation into an output rotation to be applied to a brake screw of a progressive cavity pump drive. A sensor measures rotational speed of the drive shaft. In manual operation, an operator can view an indication of the rotational speed and can manually operate the motor accordingly to control rotation of the shaft. In automated operation, a controller automatically controls the motor based on the rotational speed measured by the sensor. The controller can also use a torque sensor to detect the torque applied to the brake screw, a displacement sensor to detect displacement of the brake screw, and/or a current sensor to detect the current consumption of the motor.

  • Patent number: 7383949
Abstract: A carrier is provided with vertical support panels, each with a receptacle extending outwardly from its lower region. The carrier is made from blanks in which foldable panels are arranged in linear arrays. In the blanks, the vertical support panels can be folded and bonded to one another back-to-back. This facilitates close nesting of the blanks with one another on a sheet of fiberboard material so as to maximize the number of carriers which can be made from a given area of sheet material. Preferably, the vertical support panels and side panels are joined together serially along fold lines perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the linear array, while flanges forming bottoms for the receptacles are joined to the vertical support panels and side wall panels along fold lines parallel to the longitudinal axis.
