  • Patent number: 8191215
Abstract: A spreading device (20) for spreading a fiber filament bundle (32) to form a flat fiber band (14) has at least one convexly bent spreading edge (80) that is movable. The convexly bent spreading edge has at least one direction component perpendicular to a longitudinal extension of the fiber filament bundle (32) to be spread relative to the convexly bent spreading edge. The fiber filament bundle is configured to be placed under tension onto the convexly bent spreading edge (80) and thereafter is configured to be moved again with the at least one direction component perpendicular to the fiber filament bundle (32) away from the fiber filament bundle to release the fiber filament bundle from the convexly bent spreading edge (80).

  • Publication number: 20120133548
Abstract: A method for direction finding by means of monopulse formation in a radar system with electronically controlled group antenna and analog beam shaping of sum and difference channels, a self-test of the antenna being carried out to identify failed receiving elements, and the result of the self-test going directly into the monopulse formation and the test thereby being error corrected. The result of the self-test is converted into correction values that, independently of the antenna viewing direction, are combined with those from the sum channel signal and the difference channel signals of the antenna.

Abstract: A method for effecting the airborne determination of geographic coordinates of corresponding pixels from digital synthetic aperture radar images, where the SAR images are available in the form of slant range images and the recording position of the respective SAR image is known. The coordinates of the corresponding pixels in the SAR images and the corresponding range gates are used in each case to determine the distance between a corresponding resolution cell on the ground and the respective recording position of the respective SAR image. The determined distances and associated recording positions of the SAR images are used to determine the geographic coordinates of the corresponding pixels in the SAR images by employing a WGS84 ellipsoid.

  • Publication number: 20120127014
Abstract: A method for producing a sensor-supported, synthetic view for landing support of helicopters under brown-out or white-out conditions is provided. A virtual 3-D representation of the landing zone is continuously created from 3-D data of the intended landing zone recorded during the landing approach and a monitoring routine is available to ensure that no 3-D data that was produced under brown-out or white-out conditions is considered in the representation. As soon as the monitoring routine detects that 3-D data has been recorded under brown-out or white-out conditions, an additional radar sensor is activated to continuously produce distance and/or Doppler data of potential objects entering the landing zone, the objects being displayed to a pilot of the landing helicopter in the synthetic view.

Abstract: A laser detection method and apparatus for detection of laser beams can each perform operations for producing an interference image from detected light radiation, recording the interference image, and processing the recorded interference image in order to detect laser radiation. In order to allow more robust and faster laser detection, the apparatus and method can detect a spatially defined point distribution from the interference image and transform the point distribution such that a grid interval remains between a point grid in the point distribution, and a fixed position, which is independent of a position in the original image, is associated with the point grid. The apparatus and method can further detect a grid interval in the point grid that was transformed, and detect the position of the point grid from the point distribution by filtering with the assistance of the grid interval.

  • Patent number: 8149059
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for compensating for gain changes in an amplifier circuit comprising radio-frequency modules and attenuation elements, a radio-frequency module is driven with a first temperature-dependent monitoring voltage UHF(T), and an attenuation element with a second temperature-dependent monitoring voltage UVG(T). The first temperature-dependent monitoring voltage UHF(T) is produced by applying a temperature dependency to an individual monitoring voltage Uopt, which is predetermined for a predetermined temperature for a radio-frequency module, in order to set the optimum operating point of the radio-frequency module. The second temperature-dependent monitoring voltage UVG(T) is produced by applying a temperature dependency to a predetermined monitoring voltage UVG—T for the attenuation element. The monitoring voltage UVG—T is determined in an iteration method, such that the output power of the amplifier circuit reaches a predeterminable level at a constant input power.

The method further includes determining a motion curve x(t)? according to x ? ( t ) = ? i = 1 n ? ? i ? k ? ( t , t i ) , where n represents a number of distance measurements used and each function k(t, ti) is a positively defined kernel function, and where {?1, . . . , ?n}? are coefficient vectors that are estimated using smoothness conditions based on a regularization term formed with the kernel functions.

The method also includes; fixing-in-position of the fibers of the textile against each other and then cutting-to-size of the textile. The fixing-in-position of the textile involves irradiating via a laser beam in order for the melt-on binder of the textile to be melted on only in a localized fashion and not evaporated. The fixing-in-position occurs along a fix-in-position line, the cutting-to-size occurs along a cut-to-size line, and the fix-in-position line is located at a distance relative to the cut-to-size line that is so small that any fraying of the textile is reduced or suppressed altogether.
