    Abstract: The present invention relates to an extensometer for measuring high-temperature structural deformations by magnification, the structure of the extensometer is that: two mounting block assemblies are mounted at the planar ends of two extension bars respectively, the top ends of the extension bars are connected tightly with the surface of a test piece, two connecting pieces are mounted at the inner sides of the two mounting block assemblies respectively, a deformation magnifying mechanism and a sensor bracket are mounted on the connecting pieces, a sensor is mounted on the sensor bracket, two connecting pieces are mounted on a same straight line, and the straight line is parallel to a straight line at which the top ends of the two extension bars are located, so as to ensure that the deformation of the test piece is delivered equally to the deformation magnifying mechanism on the connecting pieces.

    Abstract: A calibration method for brittle fracture assessment parameters for pressure vessel materials based on the Beremin model includes selecting at least two types of specimens of different constraints, and calculating the fracture toughness values K0 corresponding to 63.2% failure probability for each type of specimens at a same calibration temperature by using the respective fracture toughness data. The method proceeds by obtaining the stress-strain curve of the material at the calibration temperature, generating finite element models for each type of specimens, and calculating the maximum principal stress and element volume of every element at K=K0 in each model. A series of values of m are assumed to compute a group of ?u values for each type of specimens, and then m˜?u curves are plotted for each type of specimens. Brittle fracture assessment parameters are then determined for the material according to the coordinates of the intersection of the m˜?u curves.

    Abstract: A method for preparing monolithic catalyst washcoat is disclosed and includes the following steps: preparing a coating slurry; pretreating a monolithic carrier; applying the coating slurry onto the monolithic carrier by vacuum spraying; removing the excess coating slurry by vacuum extraction; and obtaining the monolithic carrier applied with the washcoat after drying and calcination. The washcoat of 5-20 wt % can be obtained on the monolithic carrier of the present invention by one-off applying. The method can be used to prepare the washcoat on monolithic cordierite ceramic carrier, monolithic metal carrier, monolithic active carbon carrier or monolithic molecular sieve carrier. The obtained washcoat is uniform, and has good adhesion with the carrier and excellent repeatability.

    Abstract: The invention disclosed a novel mesoporous silica-based xerogel and its use in hemorrhage control. The mesoporous silica-based xerogel material has tunable mesopores (1-50 nm), high specific surface area (100-1400 m2/g), macroscopical morphology (powder, film, disc, column, etc.) and adjustable compositions (SiO2, CaO and P2O5, etc.) as well as good biodegradation. The mesoporous silica-based xerogels herein effectively promote the blood clotting under various conditions including slow and severe hemorrhage, even at the blood oozing site of bone defect. Meanwhile, the networks of silica-based xerogel with good elastic and mechanic properties, formed by adsorbing a large amount of water, can modulate the cell behavior and tissue growth, and thus promote the wound healing. Additionally, due to the mesoporous structure, the materials have the potential to load drug, thrombin and bioactive factors, which is favorable for the therapeutical efficacy.

    Abstract: A general, facile, and reversible nanocrystal (NCs) phase transfer protocol via ligand exchange using nucleotides and/or nucleosides is provided to generate reversibly water-soluble nanocrystals. This phase transfer strategy can be employed on a wide variety of chemically synthesized nanostructured materials including semiconductors, metal oxides and noble metals with different sizes and shapes. The nucleotide/nucleoside-capped nanocrystals can disperse homogeneously in aqueous or alcohol media retaining, for example, high photoluminescence quantum yields.
