Abstract: A soil-based coupon having an electronically readable verification code printed thereon is used for verification of soil removal by a cleaning process. The coupon includes a soil overlay covering the verification code. The verification code is at least partially revealed by removal of all or part of the soil overlay during the cleaning process. If the data encoded in the verification code can be correctly decoded after completion of the cleaning process, the cleaning process can be verified. The soil overlay can be designed to match the application. The coupons may be used in a cleaning process verification procedure in which one or more computing devices analyze images of the verification codes to determine whether or not cleaning processes can be verified.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems, apparatuses, and processes for preparing a gas-infused additive that is useful within gas-floatation systems configured to separate solids and/or oils from a liquid within a suspension. The gas-infused additive can be injected into systems having a floatation consolidator to provide additional dissolved gas to the system. Advantageously, the processes and apparatuses disclosed herein are compatible with systems and processes having a single injection point for the addition of an additive or gas, without requiring substantial modification or reconfiguration of the system. The inventions described herein additionally teach that the gas-infused additive can be prepared and injected downstream of any pump present within the system, thereby protecting the pump from the damaging effects of cavitation corrosion and similar phenomena.

Abstract: A method of analyzing a substrate contacting a fluid present in an industrial system is provided. The method comprises creating a series of digital images of the substrate while contacting the fluid present in the industrial system. A region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is defined. A corrosion feature in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is identified. The corrosion feature in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is analyzed to determine a corrosion trend of the industrial system. In certain embodiments of the method, the fluid is industrial water, and the industrial system is an industrial water system.
Abstract: Systems for and methods of monitoring and analyzing deposit in an industrial water system are provided. The methods comprise heating a substrate while the substrate contacts industrial water in the industrial water system to form deposit on the substrate. A series of digital images of the substrate while the substrate contacts the industrial water in the industrial water system is created. A region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is defined. A deposit feature in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is identified. The deposit feature in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is analyzed to determine a deposit trend of the substrate in the industrial water system. Generally, the systems are configured so as to be capable of carrying out one or more of the methods.

Abstract: A fluid flow meter is described, that includes intermeshing gears that rotate synchronously. The fluid flow meter has a nominal operating range between a maximum volumetric flow rate and a minimum volumetric flow rate. The flow meter has a flow sensor to produce a pulsed output and a controller operatively coupled to a data storage medium. The controller can receive detection signal from the flow sensor to generate input pulses and determine an input pulse frequency. The controller can determine whether the fluid flow meter is operating outside the nominal operating range and apply a correction function to input pulses to generate linearized output pulses. The controller may generate the correction function based on the input pulse frequency and a predetermined pulse frequency; or based on the time interval between input pulses and a predetermined interval between input pulses; or based on a generic calibration of the fluid flow meter.
