Abstract: A cosmetic applicator system that comprises first and second applicator heads that are identical or substantially identical and coaxial with each other. The first applicator head extends from a closure that is able to engage a product reservoir to seal and unseal the reservoir. The second applicator head is non-functional, and extends from the closure in a direction that is opposite to the first applicator head. When the closure is engaged on the reservoir, the first applicator head is immersed in the reservoir, while the second applicator head remains visible. A transparent protective cap may be provided for the second applicator head.
Abstract: Skin diagnostic techniques employed in conjunction with image processing techniques. For example, a user information module captures a user skin image. A graphical user interface enables selection of a skin-related application from a plurality of skin-related applications. A processor determines user skin image data from the user skin image, and identifies one or more sets of skin image data in the skin image database that correspond to the user skin image data based on one or more parameters specified by the skin-related application. The processor applies at least one image processing filter that corresponds to the one or more identified sets of skin image data from the skin image database to the user skin image to generate a simulated user skin image. An output display displays the simulated user skin image.

Abstract: An actuator with a self-contained light source may be designed to fit on any conventional pump dispenser or valve of a pre-pressurized dispenser in a completely conventional manner. As a result, the feature of light may easily be added to a conventional pump or aerosol valve dispenser, without having to customize the pump or valve. When a user depresses the actuator to dispense product, an electric lighting circuit within the actuator is completed. The light may be effective to activate a product as it is being dispensed.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a personal care composition comprising: a personal care composition comprising a particle complex consisting of a hydrolyzed corn starch, a starch/cellulose polymer, a hydrogenated phospholipid, and gum arabic; and an aqueous carrier. The personal care composition is suitable for delivery as a sprayable composition which provides volumizing, hair fixing, and conditioning as a leave-on treatment. The present invention is also directed to a method for forming a particle complex wherein the complex provides volumizing, hair fixing, and conditioning benefits when applied to hair.
