  • Patent number: 4535705
Abstract: Many different so-called "wall systems" as are often used in offices and other locations employ perforate, vertically extending, spaced, parallel standards in supporting one or more objects through the use of hooks extending through perforations in the standards. Any such system can be improved by utilizing sloping surfaces on an object held by the standards and a wedging member associated with each sloped surface. When an object with such a surface is in place on a standard so that the hooks employed extend through openings in the standard the wedging member associated with the surface is moved so as to be wedged between the sloped surface with which it is associated and the standard so as to move the object generally outwardly from the standard in order to pull the hooks firmly in contact with the interior of the standard. This results in the object being held firmly relative to the standard employed.

  • Patent number: 4535896
Abstract: A folding, extensible holder primarily intended for use in holding file folders of various different lengths but which is capable of being used in holding other objects can be constructed so as to utilize a sectionalized base in which the sections are connected by a tongue and groove structure and opposed ends held by the base. The base construction permits the length of the base to be adjusted to correspond to various standardized lengths of folders and other objects capable of being held with the holder. Detents are provided for releasably securing the sections in various positions corresponding to such lengths. Preferably, the sections of the base may be disengaged and the ends of the folder may be folded relative to the sections upon which they are located into flat, easily shipped configurations.

  • Patent number: 4512480
Abstract: A device for organizing papers, files and the like for use in a business environment or other similar situations has a base on which one or more tilt plates are located. The tilt plates are capable of being oriented with respect to the base in a tilting mode and in a locked mode. In the tilting mode the tilt plates rotate about a bottom edge to tilt forward and backward. In the locked mode, the tilt plates are fixed in a set orientation with respect to the base. The tilt plates are easily shifted between the tilt mode and the locked mode by simply sliding them sideways a short distance on the base. Tabs on the bottom of the tilt plate maintain the tilt plate on the base and interact with a stop and lock member on the base to determine which of the modes the tilt plate is in.

  • Patent number: 4463247
Abstract: An electric soldering iron includes an elongated metal housing tube enclosing a metallic heat conducting member having a first zone snugly fit within the housing and having a portion projecting out of the front end thereof for removably receiving a soldering tip. A second zone of the member extends rearwardly from the first zone and has a smaller cross section than the interior of the tube to create an insulating space therebetween. The heat conducting member is formed with an opening sized and shaped to receive the end of an elongated flat ceramic heater having embedded therein an electric heating element. The portion of the ceramic heater not located within the heat conducting member is surrounded and positioned by a refractory heat insulating tube abutting the rear end of the heat conducting member.

  • Patent number: 4459463
Abstract: A relatively inexpensive electric soldering iron and handle structure can be constructed so as to be relatively simple to assemble by utilizing cooperating holding elements within a tubular handle to form a holder. This holder serves to support or hold a socket adapted to support a heating element and a cord retainer in place within the handle. The holder is in turn held in place within the handle through the use of cooperating detent elements on both the holder and on the handle. The parts of the soldering handle structure are dimensioned so that the parts previously identified can be inserted as a unit into the handle through one end of the handle as the cord is withdrawn outwardly from the other end of the handle.
