Abstract: One aspect of the invention is a travel pricing system comprising a data store and a server coupled to the data store. The server is operable to receive new reservation data that conflicts with old reservation data in the data store. The new reservation data comprises a plurality of new attributes. The reservation data in the data store comprises a format and a plurality of old attributes. The server is further operable to associate the new reservation data with a time stamp, and add the new reservation data and time stamp to the data store without modifying the old attributes.

Abstract: An assembly system may assemble articles of manufacture at a plurality of assembly regions and may log a time at which each article of manufacture enters or exits an assembly region. Assembly regions may include sequential assembly stations that process the articles. A method of determining when a specific article was processed by a specific assembly station may include receiving input identifying a specific article; receiving additional input identifying one of the plurality of sequential assembly stations; determining an offset of the identified sequential assembly station relative to a first assembly station or to a last assembly station within a region that comprises the identified sequential assembly station; and determining a time at which a second sequentially processed article entered or exited the region. The identified specific article and the second sequentially processed article may have been separated by a number of articles corresponding to the offset.

Abstract: A method and computer program product for operations management, including receiving an alert in an enterprise operations management system from an operations management data processing system and receiving a resolution to the alert. The method and computer program product also includes launching a task in the enterprise operations management system corresponding to the alert resolution and forwarding the task from the enterprise operations management system for execution on the operations management data processing system. A system in which the method can be implemented is also discussed.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for monitoring and correcting directory service domain controller replication errors is provided. In one embodiment, a replication monitor queries the director service for replication information and determines whether an error exists. If an error is determined to exist, then the replication monitor consults a database of known error types and associated corrective actions to determine the appropriate corrective action. The appropriate corrective action is then performed. The replication monitor also visually displays information regarding the progress of the domain controller replication process, wherein the information includes the identity of domain controller replication partners and the status of the replication process between any two domain controller replication partners, including whether, for example, errors have been determined and whether corrective action is being or has been taken.

Abstract: Navigation among concepts in a free-form data object may be facilitated by using a text-mining tool to identify concepts in a free-form data object, with each concept having at least one concept instance. Using the identified concepts, a concept-navigable structure for the free-form data object may be generated. The concept-navigable structure may include links for navigating among concept instances and/or for jumping directly to a specific concept instance within the free-form data object.

Abstract: A system and method for composing, configuring, deploying, and managing services in a data processing system and data processing system network. This system provides a means for application infrastructure services to insert specific programming code in the generated code. When code generator starts, it also loads the plugs for the infrastructure services being used by the container. The code generator creates XML documents for all the code that it wants to generate. It then invokes the infrastructure service plugs and provides them an opportunity to add code specific to them by passing the XML documents representing the code to be generated. Once all the plugs have added their code, the code generator converts the XML documents back into either language specific code or configuration code, as necessary.

Abstract: A system and method for electronic purchase of prepaid telephone services is provided. An initiating terminal receives input of a customer's request to purchase a specified amount of prepaid telephone services and receives input of the customer's designation of a financial account from which to electronically debit the price of such purchase. A central terminal receives these inputs from the initiating terminal, obtains authorization for the request, and transmits data to the initiating terminal for the initiating terminal to, in turn, print on a receipt and provide to the customer. This receipt is then used instead of a telephone card to obtain telephone services up to the specified amount. Such receipt may also detail instructions and an authorization number, such as a personal identification number or PIN, to initiate the pre-paid telephone service.

Abstract: A method and system of providing access privileges to records of members of a community may comprise storing an assignment of a member of a community to a first position in the community to generate a first relationship. Access privileges to records of the member may be automatically provided to a manager of the first position based on the first relationship. An additional assignment of the member to a second position in the community may be stored to generate a second relationship. During the pendency of the additional assignment, a manager of the second position may be automatically provided with disparate access privileges to records of the member based on the second relationship.

Abstract: A method and system for distributing an electronic publication allows the distribution of customized publications, including customized advertising, customized content, or both. In accordance with the method for distributing an electronic publication, an electronic publication is retrieved from storage. The electronic publication is delivered to the consumer by electronically sending the electronic publication to the consumer's electronic mail address. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the electronic publication may include customized advertising. A consumer profile associated with the consumer is stored in a database and comprises a plurality of profile data items. A database of content items and advertising items is created, including at least some targeted advertising items.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for validating one or more data blocks in a document derived from another document includes one or more processors collectively operable to (1) access a number of first values in a predetermined portion of a source document; (2) apply a code-generating algorithm to the first values to generate a first code representing the first values; (3) access a number of second values in a predetermined portion of a document derived from the source document, the predetermined portion of the derived document corresponding to the predetermined portion of the source document; (4) apply the code-generating algorithm to the second values to generate a second code representing the second values. If the first code matches the second code, it can be assumed that within a predefined probability the derived document was accurately derived from the source document in that the second values match the first values.
