  • Patent number: 7198192
Abstract: A method, system, computer program product, and device for providing product information, such as, for example, product price comparison information, product reviews, retailer information, retailer reviews, and information about similar products, to a user utilizing a mobile data processing system is provided. In one embodiment, a user, using a product code reader, such as, for example, an RFID reader, reads a product code from a tag, such as, for example, an RFID tag, located proximate to a product. The product code information determined from the product code is transmitted to a server. The server receives the product code information and retrieves the product information from a database. The server then formats the product information into, for example, a web page, and transmits the web page back to the mobile data processing system which receives the web page and presents the web page to the user.

  • Patent number: 7177877
Abstract: A method and system for externalizing conditional logic for an integrated programming architecture provides a static tree structure traversed by a dynamic object collector. The tree structure includes a plurality of conditional nodes and a plurality of branches for testing at least one conditional statement. Each conditional node associates with one conditional object for testing conditional statements and one or more aspect objects. The plurality of branches establishes sequential links between a first conditional node and later conditional nodes. Evaluation instructions evaluate conditional statements relative to the conditional object. An object collector is instantiated for a particular set of data, such as a business event. Upon instantiation, the object collector cache and collected objects set is empty. Object collector traverses tree structure according to the evaluation result of the condition objects of the encountered condition nodes. Object collector evaluates this condition.

  • Patent number: 7156300
Abstract: A system and method for electronic purchase of prepaid telephone services is provided. An initiating terminal receives input of a customer's request to purchase a specified amount of prepaid telephone services and receives input of the customer's designation of a financial account from which to electronically debit the price of such purchase. A central terminal receives these inputs from the initiating terminal, obtains authorization for the request, and transmits data to the initiating terminal for the initiating terminal to, in turn, print on a receipt and provide to the customer. This receipt is then used instead of a telephone card to obtain telephone services up to the specified amount. Such receipt may also detail instructions and an authorization number, such as a personal identification number or PIN, to initiate the pre-paid telephone service.

  • Patent number: 7114147
Abstract: A method and system for modifying program applications of a legacy computer system to directly output data as XML using a DOM instance, models the legacy computer system, maps the model to an XML schema and automatically modifies one or more applications to directly output XML formatted data from an internally constructed DOM instance in cooperation with a writer engine. The writer engine allows for an arbitrary number of contexts to be simultaneously active and builds a complete DOM instance by using the multiple contexts to buffer output data. The writer engine directly loads XML schema information to construct and output DOM instances in accordance with the schema and subject to further transformation by XSLT stylesheets.

  • Patent number: 7111233
Abstract: A method and system for modifying program applications of a legacy computer system to directly output data in XML format models the legacy computer system, maps the model to an XML schema and automatically modifies one or more applications to directly output XML formatted data in cooperation with a writer engine and a context table. A modeling engine lists the incidents within the applications that write data and generates a report data model. The report data model includes statically determined value or type of the data fields and is written in a formal grammar that describes how the write operations are combined. A modification specification is created to define modifications to the legacy computer system applications that relate applications that write data to the XML schema.

  • Patent number: 7099751
Abstract: Drive-by-wireless vehicle control techniques use a wireless connection between a sensor module and a control module. An action by the driver of the vehicle is detected by the sensor module and communicated to the control module using a message sent using a wireless communication pathway. The control module directs the appropriate vehicle component based on the wireless message received. The vehicle identification number (VIN) that uniquely identifies the vehicle is used to identify a wireless message has been sent from a sensor module that is part of the vehicle. The use of the VIN to identify a wireless message that applies to a particular vehicle that has been assigned the same VIN may help ensure that the particular vehicle is directed only based on actions by the driver of the particular vehicle.
