Abstract: Disclosed is a method of driving a plasma display panel and apparatus thereof enabling to minimize power consumption for driving the plasma display panel. 1. The present invention includes the steps of generating a reset discharge by supplying ramp waves so as to equalize cells in the plasma display panel in a reset period, supplying selected specific ones of the cells with a scan voltage pulse swinging between a lowest voltage levels of the reset discharge and a data pulse of a voltage level lowered as much as a negative voltage level of the scan voltage pulse, generating an address discharge by the scan voltage pulse and data pulse applied to the selected cells in an address period, and maintaining the address discharge for a sustain period.
Abstract: A method of storing digital video content to facilitate trick play consistent with certain embodiments involves storing inter-coded frames of the content in a first file and storing intra-coded frames of the content in a second file. A set of forward indices are used to address the intra coded frames in a forward direction such that playback of the second file in the order of the forward indices simulates a fast-forward playback. A set of reverse indices are used to address the intra-coded frames in a reverse direction such that playback of the second file in the order of the reverse indices simulates a fast-reverse playback. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a height adjustment device adapted in the projection apparatus and projection apparatus comprising the height adjustment device. The projection apparatus has a body and a height adjustment device. The height adjustment device comprises at least one connecting element, a rotary plate, and a screw. The connecting element is connected to the body. The rotary plate meshes with the connecting device for relative rotation, and a threaded hole is formed at the center of the rotary plate. The screw is inserted through the threaded hole to enable the rotary plate to make a linear up-down movement along the axis of the screw when the rotary plate rotates around the screw. Thus, the height adjustment device of the present invention enables a height adjustment without requiring strenuous effort and damaging the projection apparatus.
Abstract: An organic electro-luminescence display device and a fabricating method thereof for preventing deterioration of light-emission efficiency and picture quality are provided. In the organic electro-luminescence display device, an organic electro-luminescence array has first and second electrodes provided on a substrate with an organic light-emitting layer therebetween and a barrier rib parallel to any one of the first and second electrodes. A dummy barrier rib is connected to each of the barrier ribs and provided in such a manner to enclose the organic electro-luminescence array along with the barrier rib.

Abstract: A USB device including a housing and a rear cap that is rotatably connected to the housing to facilitate deploying and retracting a plug connector through a front opening of the housing. The plug connector is fixedly connected onto the front end of a sliding rack assembly that is disposed in housing such that the sliding rack assembly is slidable along a longitudinal axis. The sliding rack assembly includes a carrier including a carrier tray for supporting electronic devices and an elongated positioning rod extending from a rear portion of the carrier tray. The positioning rod is operably engaged with an actuator portion such that manual rotation of the rear cap relative to the housing around the longitudinal axis causes the sliding rack assembly to slide inside the housing between retracted and deployed positions.
Abstract: When the magnitude of a traverse signal exceeds a predetermined level, the value of a microstep drive signal is changed by one microstep angle so that the rotation angle of the stepping motor changes in a rotation direction in which the magnitude of the traverse signal decreases. A determination is made as to whether or not the magnitude of the traverse signal becomes a predetermined level or less. When the magnitude of the traverse signal does not become the predetermined level or less, the magnitude of the microstep drive signal is returned to the pre-change value and the value of the microstep drive signal is incremented by an additional microstep angle so that the rotation angle of the stepping motor changes in a rotation direction in which the magnitude of the traverse signal decreases.
Abstract: Disclosed is a network control system for home appliances that satisfies the characteristics of low-cost and high-efficiency with respect to currently used appliances adopting a low-performance microcomputer. The system is constructed to define a master/slave type communication structure with respect to the respective appliances; construct a network by connecting the appliances through the serial communication function; and enable the appliances to communicate with one another if a predetermined communication event is produced. According to the system, an optimized network for the home appliances can be implemented, and operation states of the respective appliances can be displayed through the co-operation among the appliances, thereby maximizing the user convenience.

Abstract: A digital television (DTV) receiver and a decoding method are discussed. According to an embodiment, the DTV receiver includes: a receiving unit for receiving a digital broadcasting signal including a plurality of extended text tables (ETTs) that appear in transport stream packets having common PID values, each ETT comprising a section header and a message body, wherein the section header contains a table identification extension field that serves to establish uniqueness of each ETT, and wherein the message body includes an extended text message (ETM) which provides detailed descriptions of a virtual channel or an event associated with each ETT; and a program and system information protocol (PSIP) decoder for detecting the table identification extension field to determine uniqueness of each ETT and detecting at least one pertinent ETT from the plurality of ETTs using the determined uniqueness of each ETT.
