Abstract: A PCI Express-compatible flash device can include one or more flash memory modules, a controller, and an ExpressCard interface. The controller can advantageously provide PCI Express functionality as well as flash memory operations, e.g. writing, reading, or erasing, using the ExpressCard interface. A PIO interface includes sending first and second memory request packets to the flash device. The first memory request packet includes a command word setting that prepares the flash device for the desired operation. The second memory request packet triggers the operation and includes a data payload, if needed. A DMA interface includes sending the second memory request from the flash device to the host, thereby triggering the host to release the system bus for the DMA operation.

Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus and a method to display Points-of-Interest (POIs) in a navigation system. More specifically, this invention relates to a navigation-based apparatus and method adapted to filter redundant POIs and display only the POIs closest to the route. In one aspect, the POI display apparatus in the navigation system includes a user interface to display maps and POI information, an information receiver adapted to receive a current location of a user, at least one database to store maps, road networks and POI information, a route generating unit to retrieve the map and road network data from the database and generate a calculated route, a POI searching unit to search POIs in a predetermined searching range and searching distance and a POI filtering unit to divide the POIs discovered by the searching unit into different categories, group the POIs with the same names in each category and sort the POIs in each group according to the distance from the calculated route.

Abstract: Dish washer is disclosed for efficient removal of humid air formed after drying dishes. The dish washer includes a cabinet which forms an exterior of the dish washer, a tub in the cabinet to form a washing chamber for washing dishes, a water jacket mounted to one sidewall of the tub to hold water supplied from an outside of the dish washer for condensing moisture in humid air formed after washing and drying of the dishes when the humid air is brought into contact thereto, and a condensing duct mounted to an inside or an outside of the water jacket for guiding the humid air to the water jacket in removing the moisture from the humid air.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method of a DCR (deregistration with content retention) mode operation of a mobile station in a broadband wireless access system includes transmitting a first message including a first code indicating an entry request at the DCR mode to a base station, receiving a second message including a second code indicating whether to allow the entry request from the base station, and if the second code is set to a value indicating an allowance of the entry request, operating in the DCR mode while a preset timer is valid.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method of constructing information on associate meanings between segments of a multimedia stream, which can describe the cause/effect or abstract/detail relationship between segments of the video streams to efficiently browse the video stream and a method of browsing a video using the same. The present invention defines the cause/effect or abstract/detail relationship between the segments, event intervals, scenes, shots, etc. existing within one video stream or between the video streams, and provides a method of describing the relationship in a data region based on the content of a video stream as well as a method of browsing a video by using the information on the cause/effect or abstract/detail relationship obtained by the aforementioned method. Accordingly, a video browsing on associate meanings is available with easy manipulation and easy access to a desired part, thereby providing an effective video browsing interface for easy browsing of desired segments in a short period of time.

Abstract: A refrigerator having a main body includes a refrigerating chamber and a freezing chamber provided for storing foods. A cool air-generating device provided in the body generates cool air and a cool air-supplying device including at least one opening for discharging the cool air, is used to circulate the cool air through the freezing chamber, the refrigerating chamber, and the cool air-generating device. A separator provided adjacent to the opening acts to uniformly diffuse the cool air in the freezing chamber and the refrigerating chamber. The separator acts to separate two flows that are then brought back together. The collision and mixing of the two flows create a turbulent flow of air that is directed into the refrigerating and freezing chambers.

Abstract: A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are disclosed. Herein, additional encoding is performed on mobile service data, which are then transmitted, thereby providing robustness in the processed mobile service data, so that the mobile service data can respond more strongly against fast and frequent channel changes. The transmitting system includes a first encoding module grouping a plurality of inputted mobile service data bytes so as to form a RS frame and performing error correction encoding in RS frame units, a second encoding module encoding the primarily encoded and outputted data at a coding rate of G/H, wherein G is smaller than H (i.e., G<H), and a third encoding module performing trellis encoding on the secondarily encoded and outputted data.

Abstract: A flash memory card includes a differential datapath that enables communications between the flash memory card and a host device to be performed using differential signals. The differential datapath can translate between the differential signals and card-specific signals that control read/write operations to the memory array of the flash memory card. The card-specific signals can be standard MultimediaCard, Secure-Digital card, Memory Stick, or CompactFlash card signals, among others. A host device that provides differential data transfer capability can include a similar differential datapath. By using differential data transfer rather than conventional clocked data transfer, overall data bandwidth between a flash memory card and a host device can be significantly increased, while simultaneously decreasing power consumption and pin requirements.

Abstract: A method for transmitting radio resources in a mobile communication system is disclosed. The method includes receiving a random access channel (RACH) preamble from a plurality of UEs and transmitting response information associated with the received preambles over a common channel wherein the plurality UEs can access the common channel and receive corresponding information. If a HARQ scheme is used when a UE transmits data to the eNode-B using uplink radio resources allocated over the RACH, the eNode-B does not pre-allocate uplink radio resources required for re-transmission and performs allocation of radio resources for a first transmission of HARQ. If the re-transmission is required, the eNode-B allocates the radio resources required for the re-transmission with the NACK signal. If re-transmission is not required, the present invention can reduce an amount of wasted radio resources.

The dispenser may include a cover which opens or shuts an opening of a duct that guides contents from an interior of the refrigerator to the dispenser for discharge. An actuator transmits an externally applied force to the cover to cause the cover to move and selectively open and shut the opening.
