Abstract: An SCSI bus line apparatus including in combination at least two of any of an active deassertion (ADR) circuit, a signal line impedance matching (SLIM) circuit and a signal line increased circuit kicker (SLICK) circuit. In the ADR circuit, if a current sinking circuit senses an increased voltage on the common node of the signal lines of a bus due to active deassertion of a signal line, the current sinking circuit sinks enough current from the signal lines to prevent an over-current condition on asserted signal lines or soon-to-be asserted signal lines. In the SLIM circuit, transient voltages are removed from a signal line by limiting to within a range the voltages that can appear on the signal line.

Abstract: The charge shared precharge circuit of the present invention is coupled to the match line. The precharge circuit is disposed between the match line and a match line, and includes a CMOS passgate having an N channel and a P channel gate. An inverter acts as a match driver and is coupled between the match and match lines at the CMOS passgate's input and output. The input to the N channel gate of the pass gate is coupled through an inverter to the input of the P channel gate. The N channel gate is further coupled to V.sub.cc through two serially coupled P channel transistors receive BEQ line and an SAE signal, respectively. At the beginning of a compare cycle, BEQ is driven low as is SAE, thereby turning on the serially coupled P channel transistors and coupling V.sub.cc to the input of the N channel gate of the passgate. The P channel gate of the passgate is also opened due to the placement of the inverter between the N and P channel gates.

Abstract: A deflection waveform correction signal generator comprises a multiplying circuit for generating a pincushion correction signal. A horizontal frequency ramp is generated by a clipped retrace pulse. The ramp generator has an output coupled to an integrating circuit for generating a parabolic shaped signal. The ramp generator and ramp integrator are reset at a horizontal rate by reset pulses of differing duration. The different duration of reset pulses results in the parabolic signal having regions of non-parabolic shape. The parabolic shaped signal is coupled to an input of the multiplying circuit. A control circuit is coupled to the parabolic shaped signal for maintaining a peak amplitude thereof by controllable coupling to the ramp generator. A control loop is coupled to the integrator for controlling an integrator input bias current to generate the parabolic shaped signal at a predetermined time interval.

Abstract: A survival radio for use for transmitting and receiving information for search and rescue having an improved structural housing assembly for increased reliability to prevent moisture and water intrusion, while permitting use of the device in any ambient air pressure. The housing assembly includes a tongue and sealed groove connections joined by deforming the tongue in a pliable state, housing assembly apertures covered by a deformable flexible sealable plastic panel to permit manual actuation of internal switches and an air vent that has a porous plug permitting air pressure equalization between the inside and outside of the housing assembly, while preventing water intrusion.
Abstract: A security system including an electronic alarm signal transmitting circuit is mounted with a holster or other weapons carrier or storage container. The system includes a switch beneath a strap or cover on the holster. The switch senses when an attempt is made to open the holster strap for access to the weapon, and activates the alarm circuit. Alarms can be sent to a home alarm system, central monitor station or other monitor.
Abstract: A blind multipath equalizer for a digital communication channel is disclosed. The equalizer includes a sparse digital filter, responsive to a source of a received signal including a digital data signal, and including a plurality of taps, each responsive to a tap coefficient and time displacement, which produces a multipath corrected digital output signal. A filter controller is responsive to the received signal for detecting a multipath signal by calculating the autocorrelation of the received signal, detecting a multipath signal based on the autocorrelation and supplying a tap coefficient and time displacement to one of the plurality of taps to cancel the detected multipath signal.
Abstract: A metal detector having a receive signal responsive to detected metal objects and having a display panel that can simultaneously display a plurality of phase angles associated with the receive signal. Additionally, the display panel can simultaneously display a second variable associated with the receive signal at each particular phase angle. The second variable is user selectable and can be either (1) a count of the number of times the signal amplitude exceeds a predetermined threshold level at a particular phase angle or (2) the signal amplitude when the signal is at a particular phase angle.
Abstract: A button assembly for a television receiver control box, wherein a center button is located within a cluster of outer buttons. The outer buttons are cantilevered from the truss of a button plate that is mounted to a printed circuit board which has a plurality of microswitches. Located within the cluster of outer buttons is a center button. The center button is cantilevered from a button bracket that is mounted to a front panel of the control box. The buttons extend through corresponding openings in the front panel. Each button has a column that engages a corresponding microswitch when the button is depressed.

Abstract: This circuit facilitates the triggerability of a remote three wire flashtube and trigger coil assembly at a much lower than normal anode power supply voltage. The discharge of the trigger capacitor produces the usual trigger-event in the trigger coil. Simultaneously, a trigger boost capacitor boosts the flashtube anode voltage to approximate the supply voltage plus the voltage across the trigger coil primary winding. As a result, the flashtube anode voltage is essentially doubled at the outset of each trigger event.
Abstract: It is desirable that a cordless telephone system include a single base unit and at least two remote handunits. With such a system, two users may maintain participation in a three-way conversation while being free to move about within reasonable transmitting distance to and from the base unit. Circuitry is provided in which a signal received from one handunit is transmitted to the other handunit, and sidetone from one handunit is transmitted back to that handunit.
Abstract: Accurate detection of an existing link (current road location between two road nodes) of a vehicle by an on-board navigation system. Upon each periodic detection of the position, azimuth and velocity of the vehicle by a GPS receiver, all the links within a predetermined distance of the vehicle position are extracted by looking up road data read out from a CD-ROM. For each of the links, the distance from the vehicle position, the angle with the vehicle azimuth, the angle between the vehicle azimuth and a passable direction of the link, the difference between the vehicle velocity and the speed limit for the link and the connectability with the last-detected existing link are obtained and are substituted into a predetermined existential probability evaluation function to calculate an existential probability. The link with the largest existential probability is determined to be the existing link.

Abstract: An inverse transport processor system for a TDM packet signal TV receiver includes apparatus for selectively extracting desired payloads of program component data and coupling this data to a common buffer memory data input port. A microprocessor associated with the system also couples data to the common buffer memory data input port. The respective component payloads and data generated by the microprocessor are stored in respective blocks of the common buffer memory in response to associated memory address which are applied to a memory address input port by an address multiplexer. A decryption device is included to decrypt payload data according to packet specific decryption keys. In addition a detector is included to detect payloads including entitlement data. Payloads containing entitlement data are directed via the common buffer memory to a smart card which generates the packet specific decryption keys.
