Patent number: 9314965Abstract: A wirelaying apparatus includes a tool arm with a tool head which carries a wirelaying tool. The tool has a cutting tip through which a wire is laid into a working surface of a workpiece. The workpiece is retained in a retainer and is moved relative to the wirelaying tool. In use, the cutting tip follows along an arcuate path while laying the wire into the working surface of the workpiece. Thus, more complex wirelaying configurations are achieved, such as a bi-helical wirelaying pattern in a generally cylindrical pipe fitting or a bi-spiral wirelaying pattern in a semi-cylindrical saddle coupler pipe fitting.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2013Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Assignee: MSA Engineering Systems LimitedInventor: Morgan Jones

Patent number: 9319265Abstract: A high tier storage area stores a stub file and a lower tier cloud storage area stores the file corresponding to the stub file. When a client apparatus requests segments of the file from the high tier storage area, reference is made to the stub file to determine a predicted non-sequential pattern of requests to the segments by the client apparatus. The high tier storage area follows the predicted non-sequential pattern of requests to retrieve the segments of the file from the cloud prior to the client apparatus actually requesting the segments. As such, the file may be efficiently provided to the client apparatus while also efficiently storing the file on the lower tier cloud storage area.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2013Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Assignee: Hitachi Data Systems Engineering UK LimitedInventors: Jason R. Patent number: 9309337Abstract: Provided are blends of branched hydrocarbon comb polymers having tailored branching and molecular weight parameters, with substantially linear polymers. Such blends have been found to have improved extensional rheological properties, while maintaining nearly the viscosity of the substantially linear polymers. The blends of the hydrocarbon comb polymers with the substantially linear polymers thus maintain the extrusion processing characteristics of the linear polymer alone, but have improved extensional flow processability, with strain hardening ratios (SHR) greater than 1. The blends are effective in blown film processing. Also disclosed are related methods for improving extensional flow processability using the branched hydrocarbon comb polymers, as well as the branched hydrocarbon comb polymers themselves, including as a property enhancing additive for such substantially linear polymers.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2013Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING COMPANYInventors: Johannes Matthieu Soulages, David John Lohse, Andy Haishung Tsou, Thomas Sun, Pamela Jean Wright, Nikos Hadjichristidis, Pradeep Pandurang Shirodkar

Patent number: 9310234Abstract: A hydraulic power unit, a flow meter, and a pressure gauge couple to a first end of a tube under testing. The hydraulic power unit provides an inlet pressure to move a testing fluid through the tube. The flow meter measures a flow rate of the testing fluid and the pressure gauge measures the inlet pressure. An accelerometer measures sound and vibration of the tube. A reservoir couple to an outlet of the tub and an inlet of the hydraulic power unit. The reservoir supplies the testing fluid to the hydraulic power unit and collects the testing fluid from the tube. Hoses interconnect the components in a closed loop that reuses the testing fluid. By analyzing the flow rate, it is determined if an obstruction exist in the tube. By analyzing the inlet pressure and the sound and vibration of the tube, a location of the obstruction is determined.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2014Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: DMAR Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Zhiming Huang, Dagang Zhang
