Patent number: 6706661Abstract: A process of enhancing both the activity and the methane selectivity of a Dispersed Active Metal (“DAM”) hydrogenation catalyst is disclosed wherein the DAM undergoes low temperature oxidation in a slurry phase to form a stable, unique oxidized catalyst precursor that is subsequently reduced to form an enhanced catalyst by treatment with hydrogen-containing gas at elevated temperature, wherein reducible promoter metals comprising one or more of rhenium, ruthenium, palladium, iron and cobalt are added to the DAM. The promoter metals are mixed with the oxidized catalyst precursor as a solution of their reducible salts. The oxidized catalyst precursors are again recovered from the mixture and treated with hydrogen-containing gas to simultaneously form the metals and reactivate the DAM catalyst.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2000Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: ExxonMobil Research and Engineering CompanyInventors: Alla Jurievna Krylova, Albert L'Vovich Lapidus, Lilia Vadimovna Sineva, Michel A. Publication number: 20040047216Abstract: In a memory cell array of an MRAM, a reference memory cell holding a reference value can generate accurate reference current of an intermediate value of data by uniformly supplying reference current to two sense amplifiers using two cells of a cell holding “H” data and a cell holding “L” data. Each bit line is connected to a data-storing memory cell and to the reference memory cell. When the data-storing memory cell connected to a bit line is accessed, the reference memory cell is accessed on the adjacent bit line. Only one row of reference memory cells is provided, reducing the chip area. Therefore, a non-volatile memory device that can reduce the area of a reference cell occupied on a chip while generating accurate reference current for determination can be provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2003Publication date: March 11, 2004Applicants: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha, Mitsubishi Electric Engineering Company LimitedInventors: Masatoshi Ishikawa, Hiroaki Tanizaki

Publication number: 20040045489Abstract: The present invention is a method for reducing the slagging and fouling of the surfaces of the waterwalls, firebox, superheater, and reheater of the furnace of a coal-fired steam boiler. The process reduces the firebox exit temperature to below the specific ash melting temperature by injecting the following, either alone or in combination, into ports located in the upper section of the firebox: recirculated flue gas from downstream of the electrostatic precipitator, atomized water, or a sorbent water slurry. All of these materials have a lower temperature than the main flue gas or require additional heat for evaporation. Mixing these materials with the main flue gas from the furnace will not affect the coal combustion process, yet will reduce the temperature of any fly ash particles in the main flue gas to below the specific ash fusion temperature, and thus, prevent slagging and fouling within the furnace.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2003Publication date: March 11, 2004Applicant: Aptech Engineering Services, Inc.Inventors: Terry W.
