Abstract: Provided are amino acid sequences of engineered transaminase polynucleotide that are useful for asymmetrically synthesizing chiral amine compounds, and its preparation process and reaction process under industrial-relevant conditions. Also provided are polynucleotide sequences encoding engineered transaminase polypeptides, engineered host cells capable of expressing engineered transaminase polypeptides, and methods of producing chiral amine compounds using engineered transaminase polypeptides. Compared to other enzymes, the engineered transaminase polypeptides provided by this invention have better catalytic activity and stability, and are not inhibited by chiral amine products in the synthesis process. The use of the engineered polypeptides of the present invention for the preparation of chiral amine compound results in higher unit activity, and has good industrial application prospects.

Abstract: An information providing system includes a content association database storing external information, in which content is divided in a chunk structure, and chunk reference information, in which reference information having a different attribute than the content is divided in a chunk structure, in association with each other. An external information similarity calculation database is built on machine learning using the external information. A processor acquires specific external information, and compares the external information with the acquired specific external information. The processor looks up the external information similarity calculation database, and calculates a similarity between the external information and the specific external information, when the external information does not match with the acquired specific external information.
Abstract: Embodiments herein include an intelligent electronic device (IED) by employing a multi-factor authentication process. In some embodiments, to change the access level of the IED, the user may use the password and additional inputs such as an off-site operator sending a command, or the user engaging a push button or switch local to the IED.

Abstract: A non-woven carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) composite object is formed by the variable frequency microwave (VFM) irradiation of a mixed fiber sheet of thermoplastic fibers, carbon fibers and wavy carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The mixed fiber sheets are prepared from a slurry of the thermoplastic fibers, carbon fibers, and wavy CNTs such that the wavy CNTs contact the carbon fibers and thermoplastic fibers. Upon irradiation with VFM radiation, the wavy CNTs generate heat and transfer the heat to the thermoplastic fibers, causing melting of the thermoplastic to form the matrix of the CFRTP composite object. The mixed fiber sheets can be combined alone or with other sheets to form laminar composites that are molded into objects and heated by VFM irradiation.

Abstract: An extruder including a housing, a first material inlet for a mixture at least consisting of a solvent and a dissolved medium, a material outlet, a screw, a screw drive, and at least one distillation region between the inlet and the outlet, which allows an outflow of solvent, and a discharge line for the solvent.
Abstract: Systems and methods for cooperatively managing mixed traffic at an intersection are disclosed herein. One embodiment determines, at an autonomous sensor-rich vehicle, that one or more other vehicles are following in the same lane, the one or more other vehicles including at least one legacy vehicle; communicates with the one or more other vehicles to form a platoon; receives Signal Phase and Timing (SpaT) information from a roadside unit associated with an intersection toward which the platoon is traveling; calculates at the autonomous sensor-rich vehicle, based at least in part on the SPaT information and location information for the platoon, a speed profile and a trajectory for the autonomous sensor-rich vehicle that minimize a delay of the platoon in traversing the intersection while accounting for fuel consumption; and executes the speed profile and the trajectory to control indirectly the one or more other vehicles while the platoon traverses the intersection.

Abstract: Systems and methods for Energy Storage-based Packetized Delivery of Electricity (ES-PDE) are disclosed that are radically different from the operation of today's grid. Using ES-PDE, the loads are powered by the energy storage systems (ESS) the majority of the time and only receive packets of electricity periodically to charge the ESSs. Therefore, the grid operators can schedule the delivery of electricity packets to utilize the existing grid infrastructure. Since the customers are powered by the co-located ESSs they are not impacted by the grid operation in short term. Therefore, when grid outages occur, the customers still have power for some time, giving the grid more time to be fully restored.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for preparing a nicotinamide mononucleotide cocrystal, and aims to solve the technical problems of larger content/weight difference and inconsistent quality of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) medicines or health care products due to poor fluidity of existing nicotinamide mononucleotide crystals. The method includes the steps of mixing nicotinamide mononucleotide as an active pharmaceutical ingredient with isonicotine as a cocrystal former by adopting solution synthesis and then performing crystal precipitation. The method has the advantages of simple operation and wide application range.

Abstract: A system and method are presented in which a flow of plastic is extruded to obtain nano-sized features by forming multiple laminated flow streams, flowing in parallel through the non-rotating extrusion system. Each of the parallel laminated flow streams are subjected to repeated steps in which the flows are compressed, divided, and overlapped to amplify the number of laminations. The parallel amplified laminated flows are rejoined to form a combined laminated output with nano-sized features. The die exit is formed to provide a tubular shape.
