Patent number: 11927610Abstract: A system includes a processor operatively coupled to memory. The processor performs operations that include obtaining electrical measurements of a power system. The processor determines a scaled energy value of a first set of the electrical measurements that are scaled with respect to a second set of electrical measurements. The processor determines that a potential ringdown event occurred by comparing the scaled energy value to a threshold energy value. The processor determines that the potential ringdown event is a confirmed ringdown event by comparing a scaled error value to a threshold error value. The processor generates one or more mode estimates from the confirmed ringdown event.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Md Arif Khan, Riley Grant Huddleston, Gregary C. Patent number: 11930723Abstract: An ionic redox transistor comprises a solid channel, a solid reservoir layer, and a solid electrolyte layer disposed between the channel and the reservoir layer. The channel exhibits a substantially linear current-voltage relationship in a first range of voltages, and a nonlinear current-voltage relationship in a second range of voltages that is greater than the first range of voltages. One or both of the substantially linear current-voltage relationship or the nonlinear current-voltage relationship of the channel is varied by changing the concentration of ions such as oxygen vacancies in the channel. Ion or vacancy transport between the channel and the reservoir layer across the electrolyte layer occurs in response to applying a voltage between the channel and the reservoir layer. Subject to the first range of voltages, the channel can function as a synapse device. Subject to the second range of voltages, the channel can function as a neuron device.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventors: Albert Alec Talin, Elliot James Fuller, Christopher Bennett, Tianyao Xiao, Matthew Marinella, Suhas Kumar

Patent number: 11926322Abstract: A hybrid deterministic override to cloud based probabilistic advanced driver assistance systems. Under default driving conditions, an ego vehicle is controlled by a probabilistic controller in a cloud. An overall gap between the ego vehicle and a leading vehicle is divided into an emergency collision gap and a driver specified gap. The vehicle sensors monitor the overall gap. Patent number: 11927366Abstract: The present invention provides a cold-storage instantaneous heat pump water heater (HPWH). The HPWH includes a cold-water tank, a main evaporator, a compressor, and a hot water heat exchanger. In the present invention, heat of a working medium in the cold-water tank is absorbed by the main evaporator, and bathing water is rapidly heated by the hot water heat exchanger (condenser of the heat pump), thereby realizing instant heating with small input electrical power. Cold-water tank replaces the hot water tank of conventional HPWH avoiding energy loss during hot water storage. The working medium in the cold-water tank absorbs heat from the environment, to further improve energy utilization. In addition, there are three energy recovery evaporators to recover the waste heat of bathing.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2020Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: BEIJING UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTUREInventors: Rongji Xu, Yinshi Li
