    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for calculating noise distributions in an electric power system. In one embodiment, a system to calculate a noise distribution in an electric power system may comprise a measurement subsystem to obtain a plurality of raw measurements of a parameter in the electric power system. A noise distribution determination subsystem may be configured to generate a plurality of scaled raw measurements from the plurality of raw measurements, generate a power spectrum density from the plurality of scaled raw measurements, generate a cumulative distribution from the power spectrum density, and determine a noise distribution from the power spectrum density. A protective action subsystem may monitor the parameter in the electric power system to identify a signal of interest by utilizing, at least in part, the noise distribution and generating a control action in response to the signal.

    Abstract: An apparatus and related method for a dock housing for a pre-existing loading dock. The dock housing includes a base with top and bottom surfaces and front, back and opposed sidewalls. The front wall has integral fork pockets for interaction with forks on a fork truck for movement of the base into a desired location and the top surface has an opening to receive a dock leveler into such opening. Also included is a modular frame mounted onto the base in sections, the sections including a frame-front wall, opposed frame-sidewalls and a frame-top wall, the frame-front wall having a trailer-receiving opening to receive a trailer, the frame-sidewalls including a slotted-base attachment for securement of the base and sidewalls together. The dock housing is formed by securing the frame-sidewalls to a wall of a pre-existing building as well as securing the base, the frame-front wall and the frame-top wall together.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a turbine blade comprising designing a turbine blade includes receiving initial geometrical and aerodynamic information of the turbine blade, obtaining the maximum amount of stress within a determined area of maximum stress, and obtaining a safety factor by dividing material yield stress of the turbine blade by the maximum amount of stress. The method further includes performing a first plurality of operations responsive to the safety factor being less than 1.5 and the determined area of maximum stress occurring at the junction of the blade airfoil and the blade root. The first plurality of operations includes creating a fillet at the junction of the blade airfoil and the blade root and increasing respective thickness of each airfoil slice of the plurality of airfoil slices with a distance from the junction of the blade airfoil and the blade root of no more than 15% of the blade airfoil length.

A heliostat with mirrored facets and a scanner are provided. The scanner captures point cloud data representing the heliostat, which is segmented for each facet. Normal vectors characterize the facets and a canting angle is calculated for the respective facet.

The transmit array is adapted to refract at least one of the transmission field and the response field. The transmit array has a receive section that focuses a response field from a position of a vehicle seat to a position of a receive antenna.

The lithographic method can be multibeam interference lithography to form a three-dimensional photonic crystal template on a conductive substrate for electrodeposition of metal. Contacting the three-dimensional photonic crystal template with the electrodeposited metal with the molten salt bath can form a metal matrix device displaying a periodic pattern that is the inverse of the periodic pattern of the decomposed three-dimensional photonic crystal template.
