    Abstract: An aircraft can include a wing. The wing can include a tip. A winglet can be pivotably connected to the wing proximate the tip. A connecting member can be operatively connected to the wing and the winglet. The connecting member can include a flexible material with a super elastic material member operatively connected to the flexible material. Thus, the connecting member can allow passive movement of the winglet responsive to real-time operational forces acting upon the aircraft. In some arrangements, the flexible material can be a fabric, and the super elastic material member can be a wire. In some arrangements, the super elastic material member can be configured to exhibit a non-linear stiffness profile. The non-linear stiffness profile can include a region of quasi-zero stiffness. The stiffness profile of the super elastic material member can be selectively varied, such as by controlling a temperature of the super elastic material member.

The inductive element is configured to saturate during discharge of the capacitor through the load, so that the saturation of the inductive element causes the current through the load to continue to rise in a substantially linear fashion.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyphosphoric acid calcium magnesium fertilizer prepared by using phosphoric acid and phosphorus tailings as raw materials and a preparation method therefor. The polyphosphoric acid calcium magnesium fertilizer is prepared by using phosphorus tailings and phosphoric acid as raw materials. Based on P2O5, MgO and CaO, in the polyphosphoric acid calcium magnesium fertilizer: total phosphorus is 50-68%, effective phosphorus is 47-66%, total magnesium is 5-18%, effective magnesium is 4-15%, total calcium is 11-20%, effective calcium is 10-18%, and all are expressed in mass percentage. Based on P2O5, the polymerization rate of the polyphosphoric acid calcium magnesium fertilizer is ?50%. The present invention also provides a preparation method for the fertilizer. The phosphorus in the product prepared by the invention has sustained-release properties. The fertilizer is well suited for crops requiring large amounts of calcium and magnesium.

Chemical bonding is shown by the presence of a unique amorphous carbon layer at the carbon fiber/steel interface, and by canting of steel crystal edges adjacent to the interface. Methods for forming carbon fiber reinforce steel composites include sintering steel nanoparticles around a reinforcing carbon fiber structure, thereby chemically bonding a sintered steel matrix to the carbon fiber. This unique bonding likely contributes to enhanced strength of the composite, in comparison to metal matrix composites formed by other methods.

The methods can include performing high pressure hydrofinishing after fractionating the hydrotreated and/or hydrocracked and/or dewaxed effluent. Performing hydrofinishing after fractionation can allow the high hydrogen pressure for hydrofinishing to be used on one or more lubricant base oil fractions that are desirable for high pressure hydrofinishing. This can allow for improved aromatic saturation of a lubricant base oil product while reducing or minimizing the hydrogen consumption. The high pressure hydrofinishing can be performed at a hydrogen partial pressure of at least about 2500 psig (˜17.2 Mpa), or at least about 2600 psig (˜18.0 Mpa), or at least about 3000 psig (˜20.6 MPa). The high pressure hydrofinishing can allow for formation of a lubricant base oil product with a reduced or minimized aromatics content, a reduced or minimized 3-ring aromatics content, or a combination thereof.
