Materials of specific formulae are provided and methods to alter the composite materials with inclusion of aliovalent ions shown. Lithium batteries containing the composite lithium ion electrolytes are also provided. Electrodes containing the lithium phosphate derivative materials and batteries with such electrodes are also provided.

    Abstract: Described is a system for transmitting a flexural wave acting on one structure to another structure. In one example, a system includes a first structure having a first property and a first end and a second structure having a second property and a second end connected to the first end of the first structure. The first property is different from the second property and may be related to the material and/or geometric properties of the first and second structures. A mechanical resonator is connected to the first structure at a distance from the first end of about a quarter-wavelength of the frequency of a flexural wave acting on the first structure. The mechanical resonator matches a first mechanical impedance of the first structure to a second mechanical impedance of the second structure to allow high transmission of the flexural wave acting on the first structure to the second structure.

    Abstract: Various embodiments described herein provide for a terrain-aided location determination using a range/angle radar altimetry. Range/angle radar systems use vertical synthetic aperture radar measurements which do not include any cross-track resolution, such that if a range/Doppler cloud from a single VSAR image is compared to a regular DEM, there can be ambiguity in determining the cross-track position. By modifying the DEM to inherently include additional terrain signature information that could be compared to VSAR measurement, the limitation can be overcome, and a single range/angle radar system can provide an accurate position without the additional complexity of a range/angle/angle radar system.

    Abstract: Hydroxycarboxylic acids may be biosynthesized from a carbonaceous feedstock and then isolated through forming and subsequently hydrolyzing an intermediate sophorolipid. After biosynthesizing a hydroxycarboxylic acid in a cell culture medium or otherwise providing a hydroxycarboxylic acid in a first aqueous medium, the hydroxycarboxylic acid and glucose may be converted into at least one sophorolipid by a suitable microorganism or an enzyme cocktail. The at least one sophorolipid may be then be separated from the cell culture medium or first aqueous medium and then hydrolyzed in a second aqueous medium to form the hydroxycarboxylic acid and glucose as free components separate from the cell culture medium or first aqueous medium. The hydroxycarboxylic acid is present as a phase separate from the second aqueous medium and the glucose remains in the second aqueous medium.

The present disclosure uses a high-resistance resistor based on silicon carbide that has the above structure, makes an ohmic contact electrode on a semi-insulating silicon carbide substrate, thus obtaining a resistor with a resistance of 100 T? or more, and satisfying requirements of the precision measurement industry.

    Abstract: A cadmium telluride solar cell and a preparation method thereof. The method includes providing a substrate, and forming a window layer on a first surface of the substrate, the window layer is made of magnesium-doped zinc oxide; forming a light absorbing layer on a surface of the window layer, the light absorbing layer includes a composite layer of cadmium selenide, selenium-doped cadmium telluride, and cadmium telluride; and forming a back electrode layer on a surface of the light absorbing layer. The use of the composite structure of cadmium selenide, selenium-doped cadmium telluride, and cadmium telluride allows the solar cell to absorb long-wavelength and short-wavelength light to the maximum, increases the short-circuit current density of the cell, and improves the efficiency of the cell. In addition, the window layer including magnesium-doped zinc oxide of the solar cell serves as a buffer layer to reduce the recombination of charge carriers between interfaces.

The polypyrrole encapsulated graphene corrosion inhibitor container regulates the release rate of the corrosion inhibitor by wrapping the polypyrrole around the graphene oxide so that it is released rapidly in alkaline solutions and at a slower rate in neutral media.
