Abstract: A transceiver device for receiving an interrogation signal at a first carrier frequency and for transmitting a response signal at a second carrier frequency is disclosed. The interrogation signal comprises the first carrier frequency modulated at the second carrier frequency. The communication device includes a sensor coupled to a demodulator. The sensor receives a low frequency input used to further modulate the interrogation signal. The demodulator demodulates the low frequency input from the first carrier frequency to thereby generate the response signal comprising the second carrier frequency and the low frequency input. The demodulator preferably includes a pyroelectric demodulator, a piezoelectric demodulator, or a detector diode. The demodulator preferably has a frequency response less than the first carrier frequency but greater than the second carrier frequency.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to surface treating a substrate, spraying precursor onto the substrate using supercritical carrier fluid, and post-treating the substrate sprayed with the precursor to form a layer with nanometer thickness of material on the substrate. A spraying assembly for spraying the precursor includes one or more spraying modules and one or more radical injectors at one or more sides of the spraying module. A differential spread mechanism is provided between the spraying module and the radical injectors to inject spread gas that isolates the sprayed precursor and radicals generated by the radical injectors. As relative movement between the substrate and the spraying assembly is made, portions of the substrate is exposed to first radicals, sprayed with precursors either one of the spraying modules or both spraying modules using supercritical carrier fluid, and then exposed to second radicals again.

Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to systems and methods for monitoring and protecting an electric power system. In one embodiment, a system may comprise line-mounted wireless current transformers to measure at least one parameter of an alternating current (AC), receive a synchronization signal at which to measure the AC, and send a message comprising the measured AC. The system may also comprise an intelligent electronic device (IED) to send the synchronization signal to and receive the messages from the line-mount wireless current transformers, determine whether a high-impedance fault (HiZ) exists between the line-mounted wireless current transformers, and implement a control action based on the existence of the HiZ fault.

Abstract: A system is provided for monitoring and protecting an electric power distribution system using intelligent electronic devices that may rely on the communication from wireless electrical measurement devices. A wireless electrical measurement device may obtain electrical measurements on a transmission line and wirelessly transmit messages containing the measurements to an intelligent electronic device. The intelligent electronic device may determine a consistency of wireless communication from the wireless electrical measurement device based at least in part on the received messages. When the wireless communication is determined to be presently consistent, the intelligent electronic device may operate in a first mode. When the wireless communication is determined not to be presently consistent, the intelligent electronic device may operate in a second mode.
