  • Patent number: 10365926
Abstract: A programmable processor and method for improving the performance of processors by expanding at least two source operands, or a source and a result operand, to a width greater than the width of either the general purpose register or the data path width. The present invention provides operands which are substantially larger than the data path with of the processor by using the contents of a general purpose register to specify a memory address at which a plurality of data path widths of data can be read or written, as well as the size and shape of the operand. In addition, several instructions and apparatus for implementing these instructions are described which obtain performance advantages if the operands are not limited to the width and accessible number of general purpose registers.

  • Patent number: 10363516
Abstract: In various aspects, apparatuses and methods are provided for low pressure drop gas separations. In PSA processes, where there are large swings in pressure and corresponding swings in fluid velocity through the adsorbent, mechanical stresses during pressure cycling are of considerable concern. When that pressure is relieved in a lower pressure portion of the cycle, the high velocity of gas moving through the adsorbent bed can erode, strip away, or otherwise damage the channels within the adsorbent. Provided herein are methods which utilize flexible boundaries between adsorbent beds that are operated out of phase with one another. The flexible boundaries permit an increase in void space through the adsorbent during high pressure stages of the cycle and a decrease in void space through the adsorbent during low pressure stages of the cycle.

  • Patent number: 10365221
Abstract: Aspects of Raman spectrum plane imaging device(s), belonging to the technical field of Raman spectra, are disclosed. In one example, a Raman spectrum plane imaging device may comprise a laser generation apparatus capable of adjusting an output wavelength, a light filtering apparatus, and a planar array detector. Laser light beams emitted by such laser generation apparatus may irradiate on a surface of a sample in a planar illuminating manner. According to systems herein, Raman scattered light generated by the sample under the excitation of the laser light beams is incident on the light filtering apparatus and is imaged on the planar array detector after selectively passing through the light filtering apparatus, to be received by the planar array detector. In some implementations, the light filtering apparatus may comprise an F-P interference device and a band-pass light filter.

  • Patent number: 10365396
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional radiograph in a security scanner. A first X-ray image of an object is generated by the security scanner from a first viewpoint. A second X-ray image of the object is generated by the security scanner from a second viewpoint. The first X-ray image and the second X-ray image form a stereogram. The stereogram is displayed by the security scanner on a display system for the security scanner such that a first eye of a viewer sees the first X-ray image in the stereogram and a second eye of the viewer sees the second X-ray image in the stereogram. A parallax between the first viewpoint and the second viewpoint in the stereogram results in a three-dimensional visualization of the object on the display system for the security scanner.

  • Patent number: 10368428
Abstract: Methods for generating a multiple-energy X-ray pulse. A beam of electrons is generated with an electron gun and modulated prior to injection into an accelerating structure to achieve at least a first and specified beam current amplitude over the course of respective beam current temporal profiles. A radio frequency field is applied to the accelerating structure with a specified RF field amplitude and a specified RF temporal profile. The first and second specified beam current amplitudes are injected serially, each after a specified delay, in such a manner as to achieve at least two distinct endpoint energies of electrons accelerated within the accelerating structure during a course of a single RF-pulse. The beam of electrons is accelerated by the radio frequency field within the accelerating structure to produce accelerated electrons which impinge upon a target for generating Bremsstrahlung X-rays.

  • Patent number: 10365636
Abstract: Computer (or computerized) numerical control (CNC) tools are employed globally. While these may be purchased with an initial set of configurations users must establish any other configurations themselves leading to potentially every CNC tool being configured slightly differently for the same process requirement even before considering new materials, tool elements etc. Accordingly, users and manufacturers would benefit from access to updated process parameters for machine tools that reflect scenarios encountered in manufacturing operations that are new or lead to improved tolerances, yields, reducing process time etc. However, users are not going to employ just any set of parameters given to them as these may damage their CNC tool or tool elements. Embodiments of the invention provide a subscription service providing access to verified settings where the verification is performed by the machine tool manufacturer or machine tool element manufacturer.
