  • Patent number: 9395179
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting, for wheel assemblies on opposite ends of an axle during an alignment angle measurement or inspection process, relative movement or slip between the alignment angle sensor or optical target and the wheel assembly upon which it is mounted. Changes in measurements of invariant characteristics of the solid axle or an associated wheel assembly are observed by an alignment measurement or inspection system as indications of movement or slip between at least one of the alignment angle sensors or optical targets and the associated wheel assembly. Upon detection of a change a measurement of an invariant characteristic, an operator is alerted by the alignment measurement or inspection system to the presence of movement or slip of one or both of the alignment angle sensors or optical targets associated with the wheel assemblies of the axle.

  • Patent number: 9394889
Abstract: A chemical-electromagnetic hybrid propeller with variable specific impulse. Fuel gas ejected out from a spraying tube of the chemical propeller through chemical propulsion enters an ionization chamber through a first magnetic mirror tube for ionization. The fuel gas after ionization is heated up by radio-frequency ion cyclotron waves in an ion cyclotron wave heating chamber so as to improve the kinetic energy. Then a second magnetic mirror tube is used, so that ions in the fuel gas after the ionization are heated up many times in a reciprocating manner between the magnetic mirror tubes, and ejected to generate forward propulsion force. By means of the propeller, the propulsion force and the specific impulse are greatly increased.

  • Publication number: 20160200271
Abstract: Front bumper assemblies for vehicles are disclosed. The front bumper assemblies may include a bumper reinforcement with a plurality of pedestrian energy absorbers positioned adjacent to a front face of the bumper reinforcement. The plurality of pedestrian energy absorbers are arrayed along a width direction of the bumper reinforcement. A plurality of bumper cover supports are positioned at least one of atop or adjacent the bumper reinforcement and may be attached to the bumper reinforcement. Each of the plurality of bumper cover supports is offset from the forward contact surfaces of the pedestrian energy absorbers in a front impact direction. Each of the plurality of bumper cover supports is more compliant in a front impact direction than in a vertical direction. As a result, a bumper cover of the front bumper assembly is more compliant in a front impact direction while being more rigid in the vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 9390594
Abstract: A smart safe include one or more note validators. Access to the note validators and internal workings of the smart safe is defined by an applicable level of security at the smart safe. The applicable level of security may be dependent on whether the smart safe is experiencing an error condition and/or the identification of a user trying to access the smart safe. By allowing some users limited access to the note validators, the users may be able to resolve some error conditions without compromising the integrity of notes stored within the smart safe and without relying on dedicated service personnel to resolve the error condition at the smart safe.
