  • Publication number: 20190033259
Abstract: A workpiece handling system for inspection of workpieces having an elongated cylindrical segment with an enlarged feature such as a threaded fastener. A pair of rollers is inclined with respect to horizontal, and having cylindrical surfaces separated by a gap and rotated about parallel axes, with upwardly presented end surfaces. A drive arrangement rotates the rollers. A slide mechanism enables the rollers to be set at a first and second separation gaps. A workpiece transfer mechanism loads the workpiece onto the rollers, rotation of the rollers set at the first separation gap causes the workpieces to rotate. A sensor probe is positioned in close proximity to the workpiece head as the workpiece is rotated. A workpiece receiving system is provided for handling the workpieces when the rollers are set to the separation second gap, allowing the workpiece to fall under gravity between the rollers.

  • Publication number: 20190036134
Abstract: A system and method for preparing a high-activity specific-valence electrolyte of an all-vanadium redox flow battery. A vanadium-containing material is reduced into a low-valence vanadium oxide with an average valence in the range of 3.0-4.5 through precise control of fluidization, then water and sulfuric acid are added for dissolution, and microwave field is further adopted for activation, so as to obtain a specific-valence vanadium electrolyte. Efficient utilization of heat is achieved through heat exchange between the vanadium-containing material and reduction tail gas and heat exchange between the reduction product and fluidized nitrogen gas. An internal member and feed outlets at different heights are arranged in a reduction fluidized bed to achieve precise control over the valence state of the reduction product, and the special chemical effect of the microwave field is used to activate the vanadium ions, thereby improving the activity of the electrolyte greatly.

  • Patent number: 10188998
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling the flow and transport of catalyst particles within a reaction system. The flow of catalyst particles can be managed using a rotating disc or wheel that is configured within a roller volume to allow for control over the rate of catalyst flow while reducing or minimizing attrition of the catalyst particles. This can be achieved in part by maintaining a relationship between the center of the rotating disc, the inlet for catalyst particles to the roller volume, and the top wall of the roller volume so that catalyst particles are not exposed to compressive forces and/or abrasion during rotation of the disc. Additionally or alternately, the disc and roller volume surfaces can be configured to reduce or minimize the potential for catalyst particles to become trapped in “dead space” regions within the roller volume.
