Patent number: 6926504Abstract: An improved electrical pump is first provided for use in a wellbore. The pump comprises a stator and a stator housing, and an armature and an armature housing. The stator housing and the armature housing define concentrically nested tubular bodies. The armature housing is configured to permit production fluids to flow therethrough. In one aspect, the stator and armature are assembled in connectible and interchangeable sections called “modules” that can be attached in series. In one aspect, the electrical operation of coils within the stator is protected from individual coil short-circuiting or failure by wiring them in parallel, rather than in series. In addition, each module may be wired in parallel. In this way, a failure of one stator module will not result in the failure of another stator module. In an embodiment of the present invention, the valves of the pump are capable of being retrieved by a wireline, without pulling the entire production string.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2002Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignees: Total Fiza Elf, Eni S.p.A., Shell International Exploration & Production B.V.Inventor: William F. Patent number: 6924247Abstract: The object of the present invention relates to a simple, rapid and inexpensive process for effecting solid-liquid separations in the case of zeolites, also having small crystals. This process, which is particularly useful for the recovery of zeolite crystals in suspension in the crystallization water, comprises treating this suspension of crystals with an acid or one of its precursors and subjecting the resulting mixture to filtration or decanting. According to a particular aspect of the invention, the crystalline phase is separated in a mixture with oxides which can be used as ligands. Said oxides can be generated by the reagents of the zeolite preparation reagent mixture, not transformed into crystalline phase during the synthesis hydrothermal treatment, or they can be added to the suspension of crystals before the separation treatment, or again they can be generated by precursors suitably added to the crystallization slurry.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2001Date of Patent: August 2, 2005Assignees: Eni S.p.A., Enichem S.p.A., Enitecnologie S.p.A.Inventors: Angela Carati, Giannino Pazzuconi, Carlo Perego, Oscar Cappellazzo, Gianni Girotti

Patent number: 6868310Abstract: A predictive failure system for a power delivery system. The power delivery system includes a number of modules which are interconnected to a system monitor. The system monitor collects data on operating parameters of each module and environmental parameters. The system monitor analyzes the data in order to define conditions based upon the parameters. The parameters are then applied against a set of rules to determine whether a warning or a fault indicator should be generated. The system monitor may be implemented locally as part of the power delivery system or may be located remotely from the power delivery system to enable off site data collection and analysis.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2001Date of Patent: March 15, 2005Assignee: ENI Technology, Inc.Inventors: Kevin P. Patent number: 6863789Abstract: An arc control system includes a sputtering chamber that houses an anode and a sputtering target formed from a target material and serving as a cathode. A DC power supply provides a DC voltage between the cathode and anode such that a cathode current flows from the anode to the cathode. A resonant network is coupled between the DC power supply and the chamber. The resonant network has sufficient Q so that in reaction to an arc, the cathode current resonates through zero, causing a positive voltage to be applied between the cathode and anode. A reverse voltage clamp is coupled across the resonant network to clamp the cathode voltage to a predetermined reverse voltage. The reverse cathode voltage inhibits subsequent arcing by positively charging insulated deposits on the sputtering target. The arc control system limits the quantity of energy that is dissipated by the arc.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2003Date of Patent: March 8, 2005Assignee: ENI Technology, Inc.Inventor: Jeff C.
