Abstract: A proximity switch assembly and method are provided having wrong touch feedback and adaptive learning. The method includes the steps of detecting multiple attempted activations of a proximity switch that is not allowed, and adjusting one or more settings based on the detected multiple attempted activations to provide adaptive learning. Abstract: A vehicle electric drive includes a battery, an inverter, and a power converter electrically between the battery and inverter. The power converter includes series switches activated at a predefined switching frequency, a series capacitor and non-gapped inductor, and an inductor electrically between the non-gapped inductor and series switches. The non-gapped inductor defines an inductance proportional to an inverse of a product of a capacitance of the capacitor and the switching frequency squared.
Abstract: A powertrain includes a DC-DC converter, an electric machine, and a controller. The DC-DC converter may be configured to output a bus voltage. The controller may be configured to, in response to a torque request exceeding an available torque of the electric machine, command the converter to boost the bus voltage to a discrete step value selected from a predetermined number of available discrete step values, that changes in response to a selected operating mode of the powertrain changing, to increase the available torque.

Abstract: A method for an engine is presented, wherein purge air is routed through a fuel vapor canister during a first condition such that desorbed fuel vapor traverses a canister purge port en route to an engine intake, and wherein purge air is routed through a fuel vapor canister during a second condition such that desorbed fuel vapor traverses a canister load port en route to the engine intake. Bypassing the canister purge port during a canister purge event allows for cleaning adsorbed fuel vapor from the canister even if flow through the canister purge port is restricted. In this way, vehicle emissions may be mitigated during conditions where a carbon dust filter at the canister load port is clogged.
Abstract: An alignment device may include a saddle element configured to sit on a pedal arm of a brake assembly. The saddle element may include first and second U-shaped ends configured to receive the pedal arm. The first and second U-shaped ends may be spaced apart from one another by an opening defined by first and second lateral wing elements. The first and second lateral wing elements may form a catchment area configured to guide and position a push rod of a brake booster into alignment with the pedal arm.

Abstract: A steering system for a steerable vehicle includes at least two steerable wheels, to each of which an electrically operable steering actuator to enable the steering actuator to adjust the steering angle of the particular steerable wheel by application of a steering torque. The at least two steering actuators can be mechanically coupled to each other so that, in the event of a failure or a malfunction of the one steering actuator, the steering torque provided by the other steering actuator can be transferred to the one steering actuator, to enable the steering angle of the steerable wheel assigned to the failed steering actuator to still be changed via the other steering actuator. The at least two steering actuators can be mechanically coupled to each other via a bendable shaft or via a universal joint shaft which includes at least two rigid shafts hingedly connected via a universal joint.

Abstract: A vehicle powertrain includes an inverter coupled with an electric machine and a controller. The controller may be configured to dither a base frequency of a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal, by less than an amount that is based on a rotational speed of the machine and the base frequency, to operate the inverter such that energy at sidebands and harmonics of the base frequency are reduced by distributing the energy to reduce audible vibrations of the powertrain.
Abstract: A gate driver of a power device includes an inductor and a supply. The inductor is configured to, during a transitional period of the power device, convert a potential on a gate to a field, and the field to an opposite potential to toggle the gate and charge a floating capacitor to the opposite potential as an excess field collapses. The supply is configured to maintain the gate at the potential and generate the excess field during a non-transitional period.
