Abstract: A tunable filter having an electronically tunable center frequency and dynamic bandwidth control over a large tuning range. High-Q continuously tunable evanescent-mode cavity resonators and filters using reliable RF MEMS actuators. One embodiment is a 3.4-6.2 GHz (1.8:1 tuning ratio) continuously tunable electrostatic MEMS resonator with quality factor of 460-530, with a volume of 18×30×4 mm including the actuation scheme and biasing lines. A tunable resonators is also disclosed with a 2.8:1 (5.0-1.9 GHz) tuning ratio, and Q of 300-650.

Abstract: A hybrid satellite communication system in which a hub station transmits signals to remote stations through a satellite at a relatively low frequency which is unaffected by weather effects and in which the remote stations transmit signals to the hub station at a relatively higher frequency which enables the use of more economical equipment at the remote stations. The hub station senses the signal quality or strength received from each remote station and transmits power control signals to remote stations with poor signal strengths to cause such remote stations to increase their output power to overcome weather effects. The power control signals are transmitted on the lower frequency to prevent the power control signals from being masked by the weather effects.
Abstract: Present invention provides a method and system for providing an extended social network service (SNS), the method and system enabling a user logged in an SNS to receive information in the form of newsfeed not only from users who have a friend relationship with the logged-in user in the SNS but also from users who have an acquaintance relationship with the logged-in user through the friend relationship. Present invention also provide a method and system for providing an extended SNS, the method and system adding information about a friend relationship-based connection path between a user logged in an SNS and each user who has an acquaintance relationship with the logged-in user to content shared between them, so that the reliability of the shared content can be determined.

Abstract: A rotary lever disc brake actuating mechanism and a method for operating the rotary lever disc brake mechanism is provided. The mechanism includes a rotary lever which rotates a pinion to further rotate brake pad application racks. The racks are arranged to rotate toward an inboard brake pad to advance the brake pad toward a brake disc. The racks may further cooperate with lateral pins fixed to an outboard portion of the brake such that the outboard portion simultaneously advances an outboard brake pad toward the brake disc when the racks rotate. The brake mechanism may be assembled into a cartridge to be placed within an inboard portion of a brake caliper. The brake caliper may be located on a caliper mount via adjustment pins, whereby during new brake pad installation the caliper is self-centered by application of the brake, followed by securing the caliper to the adjustment pins.
Abstract: Methods of forming metal matrix nanocomposites are provided. The methods include the steps of introducing a master metal matrix nanocomposite into a molten metal at a temperature above the melting temperature of the master metal matrix nanocomposite, allowing at least a portion of the master metal matrix nanocomposite to mix with the molten metal and, then, solidifying the molten metal to provide a second metal matrix nanocomposite.

Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for angiogenesis inhibition comprising a peroxidasin inhibitor as an effective ingredient, and more particularly, to a method of screening angiogenesis inhibitor, which includes steps of treating a test agent, and analyzing peroxidasin gene expression or protein activity, and comparing peroxidasin gene expression or protein activity between a case treated with the test agent and a case not treated with the test agent. Abstract: A method of designing arrangement of through silicon vias (TSVs) in a stacked semiconductor device is provided The method includes: determining a plurality of TSV candidate grids representing positions, into which the TSVs are insertable, in each of a plurality of semiconductor dies stacked mutually and included in a stacked semiconductor device; creating a plurality of path graphs representing linkable signal paths for a plurality of signals transmitted through the stacked semiconductor device, respectively, based on the TSV candidate grids; determining initial TSV insertion positions corresponding to shortest signal paths for the signals based on the path graphs; and determining final TSV insertion positions by verifying the initial TSV insertion positions so that a plurality of signal networks corresponding to the shortest signal paths for the signals have routability.
