Abstract: An eyelid flipper tool is used to flip a patient's eyelid to gain access to the patient's meibomian gland lands and gland openings. The eyelid flipper tool has a concave end and a convex end connected by a center section. The concave end has a concave edge with a concave end width, a concave radius, and a curvature. The convex end of the eyelid flipper tool has a convex edge with a convex end up with, a convex end radius, and a curvature. The radii of the concave end and the convex end and the curvature of the ends are dimensioned to conform to the curvature of the eyelids or the globe of a patient's eye.
Abstract: As disclosed herein, stapled peptides targeting the interaction interface between proteins that maintain the integrity of Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family member 3 (WASF3) leads to destabilization of WASF3 and suppression of invasion. Disclosed are stapled peptides that inhibit the binding of Cytoplasmic FMR1-interacting protein 1 (CYFIP1) to either WASF3 or NCK-associated protein (NCKAP1). Also disclosed are methods for treating or suppressing invasion and metastasis of a cancer in a subject that involve administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a stapled peptide disclosed herein.

Abstract: An exemplary system, method, and computer-accessible medium for generating an image(s) of an three-dimensional anatomical flow map(s) can include receiving an optical coherence tomography (“OCT”) signal(s), splitting the OCT signal(s) into a plurality of subspectra, averaging the plurality of subspectra, and generating the image(s) of the three-dimensional anatomical flow map(s) based on the averaged subspectra. The OCT signal(s) can be a swept-source OCT signal. The OCT signal(s) can be split into the subspectra based on a Hamming window. The Hamming distance window can be optimized to minimize a nearest side lobe for each of the subspectra. A position of at least one of the subspectra can be shifted prior to averaging the subspectra. The position of all but one of the subspectra can be shifted prior to averaging the subspectra.
Abstract: Provided herein are treatments for reducing pain in dogs. The treatments generally comprise a combination of an opioid compound, such as methadone, and an azole compound, such as fluconazole. The treatments may further comprise an opioid abuse deterrent that advantageously inhibits opioid effects in humans while maintaining desirable analgesic effects in dogs. Additionally, the treatments provided herein avoid the undesirable side effects of prior art opioid treatments for dogs. The treatments may be administered as separate doses or in a single formulation product for improved compliance. The treatments have wide use potential in dogs from perioperative patients to inpatients and outpatients and may be used, for example, for sedation in minor procedures, analgesia, and decreasing temperature in canine patients.

Abstract: Bioreactors and components of bioreactors are described as may be beneficially utilized in development and conditioning of cellular materials for study or implant. The bioreactors are modular, and components of the bioreactors can be easily assembled with alternatives provided to develop specific, predetermined conditioning environments for cellular materials (e.g., implantable tissue). By selection of one of multiple alternative compliance chambers, a bioreactor can be utilized to condition tissue in a low-pressure circuit (e.g., a pulmonary heart circuit), and by utilization of an alternative compliance chamber, the bioreactor can instead condition tissue in a high-pressure circuit (e.g., an aortic heart circuit).

Abstract: An apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a memory, a second type spectrum measurer, and a processor. The memory stores an individualized blood sugar estimation model. The second type spectrum measurer measures second type spectrum data for a skin of a user. The processor calculates blood sugar of the user based on the measured second type spectrum data and the individualized blood sugar model. The blood sugar model is generated based on blood sugar profile data of the user calculated based on a first type spectrum-blood sugar profile relationship model and training second type spectrum data for the skin of the user.
