Abstract: Provided are a neural network method and an apparatus, the method including obtaining a set of floating point data processed in a layer included in a neural network, determining a weighted entropy based on data values included in the set of floating point data, adjusting quantization levels assigned to the data values based on the weighted entropy, and quantizing the data values included in the set of floating point data in accordance with the adjusted quantization levels.

Abstract: A tunnel field effect transistor (TFET) includes a substrate, heavily doped source and drain regions disposed at opposite ends of a channel region forming a PiN or NiP structure, the channel region including a first substantially parallelogram portion having a first length defined along a longitudinal axis extending from the source region to the drain region and a second substantially parallelogram portion having a second length defined along the longitudinal axis larger than the first length, the TFET device having an effective channel length that is an average of the first and second lengths. The channel region includes a channel material with a first effective mass along a longitudinal axis extending from the source region to the drain region and a second effective mass along a lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the first effective mass being greater than the second effective mass.
Abstract: Several miRNAs are described that are useful in diagnosing and treating prostate cancer, or pancreatic cancer. The miRNAs bind with targets that are associated with prostate cancer or pancreatic cancer. This permits the identification of those targets as well as a treatment methodology for prostate cancer.

Abstract: Described here is a system and method for image reconstruction that can automatically and iteratively produce multiple images from one set of acquired data, in which each of these multiple images corresponds to a subset of the acquired data that is self-consistent, but inconsistent with other subsets of the acquired data. The image reconstruction includes iteratively minimizing the rank of an image matrix whose columns each correspond to a different image, and in which one column corresponds to a user-provided prior image of the subject. The rank minimization is constrained subject to a consistency condition that enforces consistency between the forward projection of each column in the image matrix and a respective subset of the acquired data that contains data that is consistent with data in the subset, but inconsistent with data not in the subset.

Abstract: Methods and systems for bridge damage detection using, for example, one or more strain range methods are provided. One exemplary embodiment provides a computer-implemented methods and systems for determining bridge damage from strain sensor data, for example, by collecting a batch of strain data from one or more sensor pairs. From the batch of strain data one or more sets of strain data may be extracted comprising a quasi-static response of the bridge under ambient traffic loads. A relationship may be established between the one or more sets of strain data extracted from the one or more sensor pairs by orthogonal regression. Bridge damage may be detected by generally isolating a damage indicator between the one or more sensor pairs by monitoring changes in a statistical Fshm value over time.
