  • Patent number: 7359534
Abstract: In a method for fingerprint identification, fingerprint images of parts of one finger of a person to be registered are registered as registered fingerprint images, and a relative position is calculated. A fingerprint image of a person to be identified is acquired as a read fingerprint image. Based on the relative position, a registered fingerprint image from among the registered fingerprint images is specified, and a matching degree between the registered fingerprint image specified and the read fingerprint image is calculated. The specifying and the calculating are executed until the matching degree is greater than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7359112
Abstract: A control apparatus comprises a light monitoring unit for dividing a signal wavelength band into at least a band in which output light power of an optical amplifier tends to decrease at an decrease in the number of signal wavelengths and a band including a gain deviation band, and for monitoring inputted light power for the individual divided bands, a calculation unit for obtaining the number of signal wavelengths in the individual divided bands based on a monitor result, and a target gain correction unit for correcting a target gain based on a result of the calculation. This suppresses a transient variation of signal light level due to SHB or SRS at a high speed with a simple configuration without deteriorating noise characteristic, thus enabling optical amplifiers to be further disposed in a multi-stage fashion, which can lengthen the transmission distance of a transmission system including an optical add/drop unit.

  • Patent number: 7359497
Abstract: This invention is to enable transfer of a right to speak in an audio teleconference in view of usability. In this invention, a PoC server is introduced to achieve new functions, such as transfer of the right to speak, reservation to acquire the right to speak, and deprivation of the right to speak. The PoC server has a teleconference presence manager, a teleconference manager, and a teleconference audio communication manager. The right to speak is managed in a presence data storage of the teleconference presence manager. The teleconference presence manager directly manages the presence data storage, but the teleconference manager manages transfer of the right to speak. In addition, the teleconference manager manages reservation of the right to speak by a storage for a reservation list of the right to speak. The teleconference audio communication manager carries out routing of audio data. At that time, only audio data received from a user holding the right to speak is transferred.

  • Patent number: 7359462
Abstract: A channel search device is provided, which includes: a quasi-synchronization quadrature detector for outputting an I-axis signal and a Q-axis signal obtained by performing quasi-synchronization quadrature detection, based on the carrier frequency set value, on a PSK modulation signal; a timing reproducer for reproducing and outputting the I-axis signal and the Q-axis signal while correcting an error of the symbol rate set value; and a dispersion detector for detecting a dispersion between the amplitude of a symbol, comprising the I-axis signal and the Q-axis signal, and a reference amplitude. The channel search device monitors the above-described dispersion while varying the carrier frequency set value and the symbol rate set value, and judges that a channel of the symbol rate set value at the present time exists at the position of the carrier frequency set value when the size of the dispersion detected by the dispersion detector becomes an extremal value.

  • Patent number: 7359645
Abstract: In an optical transmission system, each of optical transmission devices for transmitting wavelength-multiplexed light measures a real dispersion quantity. On the basis the real dispersion quantity measured in a measurement step and design dispersion quantities of respective transmission spans, a management control section computes compensation quantities of the respective transmission spans. The management control section notifies the compensation quantities computed in a computation step to the respective optical transmission devices. On the basis of the notified compensation quantities, the respective optical transmission devices compensate for the dispersion quantities. Thereby, optimal dispersion compensating values using a bypass design are acquired individually for optical paths included in WDM light. Dispersion is automatically, dynamically compensated, thereby inhibiting deterioration of a signal.

  • Patent number: 7359051
Abstract: In a multi-wavelength spectroscopic apparatus using diffraction gratings, a first diffraction grating is a diffraction grating with diffraction efficiencies of p-polarized light and s-polarized light being equal on a short wavelength side of an operating wavelength range, and a second diffraction grating is a diffraction grating with diffraction efficiencies of p-polarized light and s-polarized light being equal on a long wavelength side of an operating wavelength range. By performing dispersion with two such diffraction gratings, it is possible to enlarge the amount of angular dispersion, and to produce a spectroscopic apparatus, which cancels wavelength dependencies of the diffraction efficiencies and has a small wavelength dependency of the diffraction efficiency.
