  • Patent number: 9584166
Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for null filling of IQ waveform. In an embodiment method, samples below a predetermined threshold are selected from a plurality of samples of an input signal. Amplitude values of a complex null-fill function are then calculated to push amplitudes of the samples below the predetermined threshold to a signal level at the predetermined threshold. The phase values of the complex null-fill function are calculated to push the samples of the input signal in an IQ plane in a defined direction from a point closest to a zero signal value. The resulting complex null-fill function is filtered within a predetermined bandwidth of the input signal, and then added to the input signal to provide a modified input signal for amplification.

  • Patent number: 9571384
Abstract: A QoS management scheme for SDN. Network resource availability of routers and switches are maintained in a central resource database of a SDN controller. The SDN controller performs resource reservation, admission control and route calculation. When a flow is admitted or completed, the resource database is updated accordingly. Dynamic queue mapping for QoS routing in SDN is also provided. For a traffic flow with a certain traffic description and delay requirement, the queue mapping protocol dynamically assigns the flow to different priority queues at different switches along its routing path. Compared with the static mapping of a flow to a specified priority queue, the disclosed mapping is more flexible and uses network resources more efficiently.

  • Patent number: 9571543
Abstract: Different representations are associated with an instance of media content, and a representation can include multiple portions of media content. A respective quality value and bitrate can be associated with each of the portions. Information about the instance of content, including bitrate and quality information, can be accessed by and/or sent to a client. The quality information indicates the availability of measures of quality (e.g., quality values) and where those quality values reside or how they can be retrieved. The client can use quality as well as bitrate to make more intelligent decisions while streaming the content. For example, while the content is being downloaded over a network, the client can adapt to changes in available network bandwidth by selecting one portion of the instance of media content over another based not just on its bitrate but also based on its quality value.
