  • Patent number: 10187130
Abstract: Using High-beam and low-beam transmission signals that have different antenna tilts, different beam-widths, and different polarizations than one another may provide performance advantages in wireless networks. The high-beam transmission signal and the low-beam transmission signal may have orthogonal polarizations. For example, the high-beam transmission signal and the low-beam transmission signal may be linearly polarized signals having different electromagnetic field (E-field) polarization angles with respect to the y-axis, e.g., +/? forty-five degrees with respect to a vertically polarized wave. As another example, the high-beam transmission signal may be a vertically polarized signal, and the low-beam transmission signal may be a horizontally polarized signal, or vice-versa. In addition to having orthogonal polarizations, the low-beam transmission signal may have a greater antenna beam down-tilt angle, and a wider beam-width than the high-beam transmission signal.

  • Patent number: 10187263
Abstract: Packets of data can be processed by a chain or sequence of service functions which include both virtual and physical service functions. In one approach, the original header and/or payload of a packet is analyzed at a software switch to determine whether the packet should be processed by the chain. If such processing is indicated, a next service function to process the packet is identified. The packet is then forwarded to a virtualized or physical device which implements the next service function. A portion of the header, such as a MAC destination address, may be modified to direct the packet to the next function. Further, in some cases, a service function chain (SFC) header with a chain identifier may be added to, or removed from, the packet.

  • Publication number: 20190020271
Abstract: AC to DC converters, more specifically Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuits, using a multi-level waveform and hybrid devices are presented. From an AC voltage input a multi-level waveform is generated, which is used to generate high and low DC output voltage levels. The multi-level waveform is connected to the DC outputs through a correpsonding intermediate node by an initial switch, and from the intermediate node to the correpsonding output by a hybrid device. The hybrid device includes a first current path, such as a series connected switch-diode pair, in parallel with second current path of a relativley faster and lower current device, such as a diode. The resultant arrangement can use devices having lower voltage ratings relative to typical PFC cirucit designs.

  • Publication number: 20190020280
Abstract: A hybid resonant DC to DC converter uses an LLC or other resonant structure on the primary side, applying a two state waveform to one end of the resonant structure and a multi-state waveform to the other end of the resonant structure. The waveforms are at or near the resonant resonant frequency and the output voltage level is regulated by varying the shape of the multi-state waveform by varying the duty cycle of the switches used to generate it. The allows the converter to operate near or at its optimal resonant point, resulting in higher efficiency, over a wide range of regulated output voltage levels.

  • Patent number: 10181949
Abstract: A data device controls distribution of data to user devices through an edge router via an encryption scheme. The data device encrypts data using a first key and a public key, and sends the data to the edge router. The edge router encrypts the encrypted data with a second key and sends the re-encrypted data to a user device. The data device then authenticates the user device and issues a decryption key derived from a private key corresponding to the public key, the first key, and the second key to the user device. • Patent number: 10182091
Abstract: An anchor server in an information-centric network (ICN) receives registration and deregistration requests from one or more producers in the ICN. In response to a producer initially registering, the anchor server stores records associating the producer with content available from the producer via a first point of attachment. In response to the producer deregistering, the records are marked as deactivated. While the records are deactivated, requests for the content from consumers may be queued. In response to the producer reregistering as being connected to the ICN via a second point of attachment, the queued requests are forwarded to the producer via the second point of attachment.

  • Patent number: 10182370
Abstract: Embodiments are provided herein for enabling buffer status reporting for Multi-stream aggregation (MSA) in wireless networks. In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives from a network, a configuration regarding one of enabling and disabling cross-node buffer status reporting. The UE further receives a first uplink grant from a first network node, and obtains a buffer status intended for a second network node. Upon enabling cross-node buffer status reporting according to the configuration, the UE transmits, in the first uplink grant to the first network node, the buffer status intended for the second network node. The first network node receives, from the UE, the buffer status intended for the second network node, and determines whether to forward the buffer status to the second network node according to the configuration regarding buffer status forwarding previously received at the first network node.
