Patents Assigned to GEORGE MASON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
  • Patent number: 7170530
Abstract: Disclosed is a tangible computer-readable medium encoded with an image-based clipping computer program. This image-based clipping computer program when executed by one or more processors should cause the processor(s) to generate a clipped pattern. To generate this clipped pattern, the processors preferably select a pattern using coordinates from an original shape; initialize a clipped pattern to the selected shapes pattern; calculate a first and second pixel where an original triangle intersects the bounds of a view volume; calculate a cutting edge which runs through the first pixel and the second pixel; select a clipping pattern(s) according to the relative position of cutting edge and the bounding box and perform a logical AND operation with the clipped shape and the selected clipping pattern(s).

  • Publication number: 20060273187
Abstract: The invention involves developing and stabilizing cultivating droplets within a matrix of a porous medium. A cultivation medium may be selected, prepared and mixed with a surfactant. Where cells are desired to be cultured in droplets, cells may be added. The mixture may be converted into cultivating droplets. The cultivating droplets may be stabilized by introducing them to a porous medium. The porous medium may contain hydrophobic particles. Stabilized, cultivating droplets having one or more cells may form an aseptic microenvironment for the concentrated growth of cells.

  • Patent number: 7117207
Abstract: Disclosed is a search mechanism comprising: accepting search intent information from a user having a search intent; creating a semantic taxonomy tree having term(s) representative of the search intent information; augmenting the term(s) with associated concepts derived from the term(s) using existing terminological data; associating a weight with at least one of the term(s); obtaining user preference intent; determining root term(s); transforming the semantic taxonomy tree to a Boolean search query; submitting the Boolean search query to searcher(s); receiving at least one search result(s); interpreting the search result(s); requesting page(s) specified the search result(s); receiving the page(s); generating ranked results; presenting the ranked results to the user; presenting the semantic taxonomy tree to the user; accepting user feedback from the user; and using the user feedback to update the user preference intent.

  • Patent number: 7061896
Abstract: A method and apparatus to support a hierarchical architecture which integrates wireless mobile terminals into networks such as the Internet. This architecture provides for efficient packet transfers over mobile wireless networks by efficiently allocating wireless resources. Label Switched packet forwarding facilitates traffic engineering and internetworking by attaching short fixed length labels to communications packets at an entry node to a wireless network to provide an efficient path to an exit node of the same wireless network. Forwarding mechanisms and limited broadcasting of reachability information are used in managing and routing the communications packets through the wireless mobile network. The present invention also supports multiple radio links between a mobile and a multiplicity of base stations. Multi-link techniques are used to affect an efficient packet transfer and admission policy.
