Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed for planning and performing an audit. The systems and techniques determine whether a Single Audit or a program-specific audit is to be performed for an entity, and automatically select one or more compliance procedures that are to be used during the auditing process.

Abstract: The present inventors, devised among other things, an exemplary method of researching provisions of contracts. The exemplary method entails receiving user selection of one or more predefined queries for contractual precedents, and executing a search of one or more databases containing agreements based on the received user selection. After executing the search, the method entails displaying a subset of the search results based on a predefined filter stored in association with an identifier for the user. The predefined filter may filter based on traits such as jurisdiction, deal size, industry, or a list of companies.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for re-ranking search results in a patent retrieval system where the query text is derived in whole or in part from a patent claim, which may be from an existing patent or a prospective claim. The re-ranking is based on several features of the candidate patent, such as the text similarity to the claim, international patent code or other classification or subject matter relatedness or overlap, and internal citation structure of the candidates. One alternative aspect provides a re-ranker that is trained on automatically generated training data, thus obviating the expensive and time-intensive step of expert annotation.

Abstract: In embodiments, a task scheduler schedules a network scanning task associated with the electronic item to be repeatedly executed according to an execution frequency. The execution frequency corresponds to a length of a time interval between each execution. The task scheduler receives a first set of scan results generated by a first execution, at a first execution time, of the scanning task and a second set of scan results generated by a second execution, at a second execution time, of the scanning task. The first and second sets of scan results may include information associated with first and second sets of observed activities associated with the electronic item, respectively. The first and second sets of scan results are analyzed and the execution frequency is modified based on the analysis.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention provide methods, systems and software for analyzing data. In particular embodiments, for example, a set of data about a web site may be analyzed to determine whether the web site is likely to be illegitimate (e.g., to be involved in a fraudulent scheme, such as a phishing scheme, the sale of gray market goods, etc.). In an exemplary embodiment, a set of data may be divided into a plurality of components (each of which, in some cases, may be considered a separate data set). Merely by way of example, a set of data may comprise data gathered from a plurality of data sources, and/or each component may comprise data gathered from one of the plurality of data sources. As another example, a set of data may comprise a document with a plurality of sections, and each component may comprise one of the plurality of sections.

Abstract: Hyperlinking or associating documents to other documents based on the names of people in the documents has become more desirable. Although there is an automated system for installing such hyperlinks into judicial opinions, the system is not generally applicable to other types of names and documents, nor well suited to determine hyperlinks for names that might refer to two or more similarly named persons. Accordingly, the inventor devised systems, methods, and software that facilitate hyperlinking names in documents, regardless of type. One exemplary system includes a descriptor module and a linking module. The descriptor module develops descriptive patterns for selecting co-occurent document information that is useful in recognizing associations between names and professional classes.

Abstract: A method includes receiving an entity record, wherein the entity record comprising at least one entity field element, and resolving the entity record to an authority record being associated with an initial authority file, wherein the authority record comprising at least one authority field element. The method further includes calculating a field element update measurement, the field element update measurement being associated with the at least one entity field element and the at least one authority field element and if the field element update measurement meets or exceeds a threshold, updating the authority record, or if the field element update measurement does not meet or exceed a threshold, not updating the authority record. Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for maintaining multiple versions of electronic books on an access device and for carrying over annotations between the multiple versions. In one embodiment, an annotation to be carried over between multiple versions may include both a document file indicator and a surrounding text indicator associated with a document file in a version. The document file indicator may be used to determine whether a corresponding document file exists in a differing version. If the document file exists in the differing version, the surrounding text indicator may be used to determine whether the surrounding text exists within the differing version. If the surrounding text exists, the annotation may be inserted at the corresponding location in the differing version. Differing versions may be maintained on the access device based on whether each of the differing versions is a major or minor version. Versions of the electronic book and related annotations may be stored on or off-device.

Abstract: A zoom in/out interface to a ratings system provides navigation to users for inspection and interaction with prescribed indicators underlying an integrated rating of a company's performance. The interface presents at various different depths in a hierarchy of the prescribed indicators the multivariate relationships that exist among the indicators, expressed as variable values, as well as the basis for the underlying values of each indicator down to the source of the data.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bootstrapper and download manager for handling the download and installation of one or more software products to a computer. The invention determines system requirements and whether any prerequisite software is required by a software product to be downloaded. Any necessary prerequisite software is installed on the computer and if more than one software product has a shared prerequisite, then the invention recognizes that and prevents downloading multiple ones of the shared prerequisites. Also, in the event of an interruption or error during download, the invention can resume downloading or installation based on the download successfully stored on the local machine without requiring the download all over again. This saves considerable time during the download and install process and enhances user productivity and experience.

Abstract: The present inventors devised, among other things, systems, methods, and software for enhancing the relevancy of content presented to users in response to queries in an online information retrieval system. One exemplary system refines a user input query by making suggestions of alternatives queries, classifying the query using language processing, or selecting one or more databases or search engines as targets for the refined query. A switchboard module converts the refined query, administers one or more searches, and collects search results from one or more search engines based on the refined query. And, a post-processor module refines the collected search results by, for example, modifying the order of the results, removing inappropriate or undesirable content from the results, and/or applying historical performance analysis.

Abstract: A centralized supply system for electrolyzed oxidizing water comprises a water softener (1), several parallel electrolyzed oxidizing water generators (2) connected, liquid storage tanks (3, 4) and delivery pumps (5, 6). A central controller (10) implements independent control over the several parallel electrolyzed oxidizing water generators (2). Liquid level sensors (9) are mounted in the liquid storage tanks (3, 4) and are connected with the central controller (10) via data collection cables (12). With the detection, determination and calculation for the liquid level signal in the liquid storage tanks (3, 4) using the central controller (10), the volume magnitude and the rate of change of the volume for the liquid in the liquid storage tanks (3, 4) can be exactly obtained in time. The electrolyzed oxidizing water generators (2) are effectively controlled based on above data. An intelligent control method for the system is also provided.

Abstract: A method and system for generating and using a master entity associative data network. The master entity associative data network system includes data sources storing data entities. Each data entity is of a specific entity type having specific entity properties, associations to other data entities, and an assigned common identifier label. Also, the master entity associative data network system includes a data processor configured to extract data entities from the data sources and extract associations to other data entities. The data processor stitches the data entities to each other based on at least one or more of the extracted associations, specific entity properties, and the common identifier label to generate one or more master data entities.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for structuring and analyzing a fixed-income security are disclosed. The fixed-income security includes a coupon that provides at least a variable rate of interest payment over a time interval. The variable rate of interest payment may be based at least in part on a set of environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) goals defined for an issuer over the time interval. A set of ESG values associated with performance of the issuer and corresponding to the set of ESG goals may be reported, independently audited, and used to determine the variable rate of interest payment provided by the security.

A container component is configured in the memory. The container component is configured to store and retrieve incident information from the database. The incident information comprising at least one of metadata and actual data relating to an incident. A relationship component is configured in the memory to provide a relationship between the container component and an artifact using the incident information relating to the incident.

Abstract: A system for use in editorial review of stored information includes a web interface adapted to provide a graphical user interface to a user. A first application component is adapted to run in the web interface. The first application component includes a first user interface component adapted to present information to a user and receive editorial content related to the information from the user. A first database communication component is adapted to communicate with a database containing the stored information and editorialize the stored information in the database in response to the editorial content received from the user. A first communication component is adapted to communicate within the web interface in response to the editorial content received from the user. A second application component is adapted to run in the web interface.

Abstract: Exemplary systems for processing a corpus of documents, such as legal contracts or agreements, are disclosed. The systems include a phrase discovery engine which derives statistics and phrase equivalence classes, groups of phrase equivalence classes, and uberphrases (clauses) bounded by phrases. These can be used to determine origins of phrases or clauses within given legal contract or to suggest alternative phrases and clauses.
