Patent number: 10736546Abstract: A device and method for the continuous monitoring of otoacoustic emissions (OAE) levels on an individual worker uses as a pair of earpieces each featuring an external microphone, an internal microphone and a pair of miniature receivers. An adaptive filtering noise rejection processing of the measured distortion product OAE (DPOAE) is used to further improve the Signal-to-Noise ratio in frequencies where passive isolation remains insufficient. The adaptive filtering noise rejection technique relies on a Normalized Least-Mean-Square (NLMS) algorithm that uses the ipsilateral external microphone and the contralateral internal microphone to reject the noise from the measured DPOAE signals for each in-ear OAE probe. A DPOAE signal extraction algorithm provides for an increase in results reliability on a greater dynamic range in DPOAE magnitudes than known methods of DPOAE signal extraction.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2019Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: EERS GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES INC.Inventors: Vincent Nadon, Jérémie Voix, Annelies Bockstael, Dick Botteldooren, Jean-Marc Lina

Patent number: 10625815Abstract: A method for manufacturing a bicycle crank is revealed. After being extended, bent and forged, an aluminum alloy pipe becomes an L-shaped part formed by a cylindrical crankshaft portion and an oval crank portion integrally connected to each other. A plug is inserted into an outer end of the crank portion while a periphery of an outer end of the crankshaft portion is punched to form a shaft-connecting portion. An assembling hole is arranged at the outer end of the crank portion, corresponding to the plug. Thus a bicycle crank is produced. Thereby not only the assembly of the bicycle crank is easier and more convenient, the structural strength of the bicycle crank is increased effectively to against vibrations and impacts. The bicycle is lightweight and the bicycle crank is more streamlined so that consumers are attracted. Thereby the market competitiveness is increased.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2017Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Alex Global Technology, Inc.Inventor: Wei-Chin Chen

Publication number: 20200117288Abstract: A touch screen device includes a display screen having a touch surface, an input knob, and a microcontroller programmed to execute a method. The knob has a stationary member with conductive base pads facing the surface and a moveable member. The knob lacks a direct electrical connection to the surface. The microcontroller receives encoder signals as the moveable member moves with respect to the stationary member, with the signals being indicative of discrete touch events between the moveable member and the screen, e.g., via an intervening switch. The microcontroller processes the encoder signals to determine a direction of movement of the knob, and derives a true position of a center point of the knob using a position of each of the base pads. The microcontroller then controls an operation of the touch screen device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 16, 2018Publication date: April 16, 2020Applicant: Visteon Global Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Carlos A.
