  • Patent number: 10578867
Abstract: A head-up display device for displaying a virtual image superimposed over a field of view to a viewer is provided. The head-up display device includes a picture generating unit having an illumination source, such as a laser, to generate a real image following a first light beam. A windshield of a vehicle engages the first light beam, either at an inclined angle or perpendicular, to reflect the first light beam away from the viewer as reflected images. A combiner disposed on the windshield including a holographic optical element steers the first light beam toward the viewer as a third light beam to present the virtual image within the field of view of the viewer. Mirrors may direct and magnify first light beam onto the combiner. A method for displaying a virtual image superimposed over a field of view to a viewer using a head-up display device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200055397
Abstract: A user interface and a method for the inputting and outputting of information in the vehicle includes an image generation unit which generates a projected image. A means for gesture recognition is arranged as a means for detecting an input, and that a means for view detection and following is arranged such that the recognition of the viewing direction and an association of the viewing direction of the driver with an area in the vehicle is carried out. Information about this area is generated in the viewing direction in the form of a projected image and is displayed floating over the area. Recognition of gestures of the driver is carried out. Upon a coincidence of a position of a hand of the driver, detected by the gesture recognition, with the projected image or a component of the projected image, a signal is generated by the central control unit and outputted.

  • Publication number: 20200057546
Abstract: A user interface and method for inputting and outputting information in a vehicle provides a user interface with a three-dimensional operating element. A laser projection unit generates at least one virtual three-dimensional operating element. A means for gesture recognition as a means for detection of an input are arranged in the interior of a vehicle. At least one virtual three-dimensional operating element is projected in the visual range of a driver by means of a laser projection arrangement. A gesture of the driver is detected by a gesture recognition means. A position of a hand of the driver is detected by means of the gesture recognition that coincides with an area of the virtual operating element. A signal for controlling a vehicle system or a function of a vehicle system is generated by the central control and evaluation unit and is output to the corresponding vehicle system.

  • Patent number: 10548516
Abstract: A device and method for the continuous monitoring of otoacoustic emissions (OAE) levels on an individual worker uses as a pair of earpieces each featuring an external microphone, an internal microphone and a pair of miniature receivers. An adaptive filtering noise rejection processing of the measured distortion product OAE (DPOAE) is used to further improve the Signal-to-Noise ratio in frequencies where passive isolation remains insufficient. The adaptive filtering noise rejection technique relies on a Normalized Least-Mean-Square (NLMS) algorithm that uses the ipsilateral external microphone and the contralateral internal microphone to reject the noise from the measured DPOAE signals for each in-ear OAE probe. A DPOAE signal extraction algorithm provides for an increase in results reliability on a greater dynamic range in DPOAE magnitudes than known methods of DPOAE signal extraction.
