    Abstract: A display arrangement and a method for controlling a display arrangement includes an assembly that permits the regulation of light permeability arranged on a second side of the display opposite a first side of the display. The assembly permitting the regulation of light permeability is provided on a second side of the display opposite a first side of the display. The assembly may be switched to be permeable or impermeable to light by means of a second clocked signal, whereby the assembly is switched to be permeable when the backlight is switched-on and switched to be impermeable to light when the backlight is switched-off.

    Abstract: A system and method for canceling vibrations in a head-up display device displaying a projected image superimposed over a field of view of a driver of a vehicle includes a mounting plate fixed to the vehicle and supporting a combiner panel while allowing the combiner panel to be rotated about a rotation axis. An image source generates a signal corresponding to the projected image, which is then projected upon the combiner panel by a picture generating unit. A rotation sensor measures rotation of the combiner panel and causes a displacement compensation controller to shift the projected image to offset displacement caused by vibration which would otherwise cause the projected image to appear to move. In this way, unwanted movement of the projected image caused by vibration is effectively cancelled-out. Alternative arrangements of components of the system are disclosed. A method for vibration cancellation in a HUD device is also provided.

The partial mirror may prevent reflections from one or more structures located therebeyond, away from the viewer, and may thereby present a uniform appearance between the active display region and the peripheral region with the display cluster in the inactive state.

Once it is determined that an electronic device is in use and within a restricted zone, a determination is made as to whether any usage prohibition conditions are satisfied. If usage prohibition conditions are satisfied, then particular functions of the electronic device may be disabled in a restricted zone. If prohibition conditions are not met, the electronic device may be totally enabled, partially enabled to allow certain functions, or the electronic device is never disabled.
