Abstract: A hydraulic setting adhesive containing a hydraulic binder, fillers, a water retention agent, a sulfoalkylester surfactant, and optionally a redispersible polymer powder and/or a polymer dispersion, wherein the surfactant is represented by the formula of MSO3—R1—(—COOR2)n, wherein M is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and ammonium; R1 is linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated C1-C10 alkylene that optionally can be substituted by one or more hydroxyl, halogen, nitro or cyano groups; R2 can be identical or different from R1 and is represented by C1-C22 linear or branched alkyl; and n is an integer from 1 to 10, and wherein the hydraulic setting adhesive based on its dry weight comprises 0.1-3% by weight of the water retention agent.
Abstract: Methods are provided for controlling an engine. One method may include boosting engine intake air to a cylinder; and injecting an amount of a scavenging fluid into the cylinder based on an amount of cylinder residual exhaust gas. A scavenging fluid, such as water or windshield washer fluid evaporates on contact with the hot exhaust gases and hot metal components and the expanded volume of the vapor displaces the residual exhaust gas, thereby improving engine scavenging.
Abstract: A dual-crankshaft engine is presented. In one embodiment, the engine includes a first crankshaft and a second crankshaft. The second crankshaft is coupled with the first crankshaft such that the first crankshaft and the second crankshaft are horizontally coplanar. The engine further includes a first piston that is operable to reciprocate in a first horizontal cylinder via coupling with the first crankshaft, and a second piston that is operable to reciprocate in a second horizontal cylinder via coupling with the second crankshaft. The second horizontal cylinder is horizontally collinear with and opposing the first horizontal cylinder.
