Abstract: A method of forming an etched part includes forming a substrate including a thermoset resin and etching a surface of the substrate. The thermoset resin includes a vat photopolymerization (VPP) thermoset resin and at least one of an etchable phase and etchable particles disposed within the VPP thermoset resin. The etching removes the etchable phase from the VPP thermoset resin at the surface of the substrate such that a plurality of micro-mechanical bonding sites are formed on an etched surface of the substrate.

Abstract: A charging station includes a charging head and a plurality of electrical connectors. The charging head is slidable along a track and rotatable along an axis. The plurality of electrical connectors is secured to the charging head and is disposed radially about the axis. Each of the electrical connectors have a different profile and are configured to engage an electrical port of an electric vehicle having a matching profile to charge the battery of the electric vehicle. The charging head is configured to slide along the track and rotate along the axis to align each of the electrical connectors with a corresponding electrical port. Each of the electrical connectors is configured to advance from and retract to the charging head to engage and disengage the corresponding electrical port.

Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, a primary axle drivably connected to the engine, and a secondary axle drivably connected to the engine by a clutch. A controller is programmed to, in response to map data indicating that the vehicle is off-road, enable an off-road transfer torque control mode in which temperatures of the clutch are compared to a lower threshold. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the temperature of the clutch exceeding the lower threshold, display a message to a driver indicative of rising temperatures of the clutch, and, in response to a temperature of the clutch exceeding an upper limit, enable a power limiting mode in which torque of the engine is limited to a predefined value.

Abstract: A method for capturing and measuring translation and/or rotation of a component moving relative to a reference system includes providing a marker on the component and providing a measurement system having a camera arranged in the reference system. The marker has at least three points which do not lie on a straight line on an upper side of the marker and the camera has an evaluation unit and memory that stores a geometry of the upper side including the at least three points. The camera is aligned with the at least three points and a first image of the marker located in a first portion is captured and stored and a second image of the marker in a second position that is different than the first position is stored. Also, translation and/or rotation of the component in three-dimensional space between the first position and the second position is calculated.
Abstract: An engine includes an intake manifold and an air-induction system configured to deliver air to the intake manifold. The air-induction system includes a throttle attached to the intake manifold, an air cleaner, conduit connecting between the air cleaner and the throttle to create a flow path therebetween, and a valve disposed in the flow path to be upstream of the throttle and downstream the air cleaner. The valve has a closed position in which the flow path is blocked to hold hydrocarbons within the intake manifold and inhibit emission therefrom and has an open position in which the flow path is unimpeded.
