  • Patent number: 10581117
Abstract: Electrochemical cells that cycle lithium ions and methods for suppressing or minimizing deposition of transition metal ions at negative electrodes are provided. The electrochemical cells include a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator disposed therebetween, and an electrolyte system including one or more lithium salts, one or more solvents, and at least one additive complexing compound. The at least one additive complexing compound includes an alkyl group having greater than or equal to 4 carbon atoms and less than or equal to 22 carbon atoms and a transition metal ion trapping group. The at least one additive compound associates with a surface of the separator via van der Waal's interactive forces and is further capable of complexing with transition metal ion within the electrochemical cell to sequester or tether the ions generated by contaminants to minimize or suppress the deposition of transition metal cations on the negative electrode.

  • Patent number: 10577998
Abstract: A method and system controls a regeneration of a particle filter of an internal combustion engine. A first value is measured for the oxygen content in exhaust gas upstream from the particle filter. A second value is measured for the oxygen content in exhaust gas downstream from the particle filter. The particle filter is determined to be free of soot when the second value for the oxygen content is equal to the first value for the oxygen content.

  • Patent number: 10576970
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for assisting the driver of a motor vehicle while driving through an intersection or road junction where at least three roads converge in a transition area. A future motion of an own or ego vehicle is estimated, and a future motion of a second vehicle is estimated. The probability of a collision between the own vehicle and the second vehicle is estimated based on the respective future motions. A search for a roadway marking arranged in the transition area is executed. If a roadway marking is found, the future motion of at least one of the own vehicle and second vehicle is estimated based on the detected roadway marking. A risk-reducing manuever is executed when the estimated collision probability exceeds a limiting value.

  • Patent number: 10579071
Abstract: Example methods and systems may transport an object with a plurality of transport vehicles. An example transport vehicle may be autonomous, and may have one or more wheels extending from a body for engaging a ground surface. Example methods may include providing a destination for the object to the plurality of transport vehicles, wherein the plurality of transport vehicles determines a route to the destination, dividing the route into one or more route segments for the plurality of transport vehicles, encountering an obstacle with a first one of the transport vehicles while traveling along one of the route segments, and sending a location of the obstacle from the first transport vehicles to at least a second one of the transport vehicles. A second one of the transport vehicles may modify at least one of the route segments to avoid the obstacle based upon the provided location.
