Abstract: A method of controlling a vehicle includes determining a first projected path of the vehicle, receiving sensor data corresponding to a steering input, determining a first blended vehicle path resulting from a first blended steering command based on the first projected path and the sensor data, and determining when the first blended vehicle path satisfies a first criteria. When the controller determines that the first blended vehicle path satisfies the first criteria, the controller relinquishes control of the vehicle to an operator and when the controller determines that the first blended vehicle path does not satisfy the first criteria, the controller generates a second blended vehicle path resulting from a second blended steering command based on the first projected path and the sensor data.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for predicting a vehicle pose. In one embodiment, a system includes a non-transitory computer readable medium. The non-transitory computer readable medium includes: an asynchronous prediction module configured to, by a processor, receive vehicle data from a vehicle, and compute a prediction of vehicle pose from the vehicle data, wherein the computation is performed asynchronously using a vehicle time frame and a common coordinate system; and a synchronous prediction module configured to, by the processor, compute a final prediction of the vehicle pose across the vehicle population based on the prediction of vehicle pose from the asynchronous prediction module, wherein the computation is performed synchronously using a global time frame and the common coordinate system.

Abstract: A vehicle, operating system of a vehicle and a method of operating a vehicle is disclosed. A local electronic control unit is operated at the vehicle in order to control the vehicle. A backup electronic control unit is operated at a remote computing platform for control of the vehicle. A control of the vehicle is transferred from the local electronic control unit to the backup electronic control unit upon occurrence of a fault at the local electronic control unit.

Abstract: An alignment member includes a first body member having a first end and a second end longitudinally opposite the first end, a second body member having a first end and a second end longitudinally opposite the first end, the second body member coupled to the first body member such that the first and second body members define a longitudinal axis of the alignment member, a first base member coupled to the second body member, a second base member rotatably coupled to the first base member, and a locking mechanism configured to engage with the first base member. The first base member rotates relative to the second base member to position the alignment member from a first position to a second position and the locking mechanism engages with the first base member to retain the alignment member in the second position.

Abstract: A method of resistance spot brazing a workpiece stack-up that includes a first thin-gauge steel workpiece and a second thin-gauge steel workpiece. The method includes several steps. A first step involves applying a filler material to a surface of the first thin-gauge steel workpiece. A second step involves bringing a surface of the second thin-gauge steel workpiece to adjoin the filler material. A third step involves clamping a first welding electrode and a second welding electrode on the first and second thin-gauge steel workpieces and over the filler material. A fourth step involves passing electrical current between the first and second welding electrodes and hence through the filler material. And a fifth step involves terminating passage of the electrical current in order to establish a brazed joint between the first and second thin-gauge steel workpieces.

Abstract: Embodiments include methods, systems and computer readable storage medium for a method for resolving an angle of arrival (AOA) in an antennae array is disclosed. The method includes receiving, from an antenna array of a radar system, antennae data. The method further includes receiving, by the radar system, an iteration counter value. The method further includes calculating, by the radar system, an elevation estimation and an azimuth estimation based on the antennae data and iteration counter value. The method further includes generating, by the radar system, a plurality of hypotheses based on the elevation estimation and azimuth estimation. The method further includes selecting, by the radar system, a hypothesis from the plurality of hypotheses. The method further includes storing, by the radar system, the selected hypothesis.

Abstract: An autonomous vehicle, system and method of operating the autonomous vehicle. The system includes an episodic memory, a hyper-association module and a navigation system. The episodic memory stores a plurality of episodes, recalls a plurality of candidate episodes in response to receiving a partial prefix and recalls a hypothesis episode in response to receiving an intermediate episode. The hyper-association module receives the plurality of candidate episodes from the episodic memory and obtains the intermediate episode from the plurality of candidate episodes. The navigation system navigates the autonomous vehicle using the hypothesis episode.
