Abstract: A process of forming a papermaking fabric includes determining a value of a characteristic of a first papermaking fabric related to one of (i) knuckles in the first papermaking fabric, (ii) pockets in the first papermaking fabric, and (iii) both knuckles and pockets formed in the first papermaking fabric. A first paper product having domes is formed using the first papermaking fabric. A property of the domes is determined in the first paper product and correlated to the determined value of the characteristic of the first papermaking fabric. A second papermaking fabric is formed such that a value of the characteristic in the second papermaking fabric is altered from the determined value of the characteristic in the first papermaking fabric. A second paper product having domes is formed. The property of the domes in the second paper product is different than the determined property of the domes in the first.
Abstract: Sheet product dispensers and methods are provided. A sheet product dispenser includes a loading station for sheet material, a sheet feeding mechanism configured to feed the sheet material, a presentation station for presenting one or more discrete sheet products to an end user, a sensor downstream of the feeding mechanism and upstream of the presentation station configured to detect a presence of the discrete sheet products, and a controller configured to facilitate dispensing of the one or more discrete sheet products in response to a signal, and to determine and store data associated with the dispensing of the sheet products.

Abstract: Automated air freshener dispensers and cartridges therefor are provided herein. Air freshener dispensers include a housing having a cavity for receiving a cartridge containing an air freshening substance for release, a fan that induces an airflow through the housing and directs the airflow to an area outside of the air freshener dispenser, such that released air freshening substance is entrained in the airflow, a motor for driving the fan, at least one sensor, and a controller that receives a signal from the at least one sensor and directs operation of the fan in response thereto.

Abstract: A method of reducing sheet product waste generated during use of a sheet product dispenser in a particular location and over a broad range of usage rates includes designing a dispenser. The design includes determining a desired housing size to obtain a top to bottom height for sheet product roll storage within the housing, dividing the height by two to obtain a maximum roll diameter, locating two roll holders in the housing so that each holder may accept a roll having the maximum roll diameter, positioning a first roll of the maximum roll diameter in a first one of the two roll holders, and positioning a second roll of the maximum roll diameter in a second one of the two roll holders so that two rolls of equivalent length are configured to be dispensed sequentially from the dispenser. The installation and use of two rolls of maximum roll diameter reduces waste. Dispensers formed according to this method are also described.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to wet wipes and methods of making thereof. In one aspect, a wet wipe includes a multi-ply tissue impregnated with a wetting composition. The multi-ply tissue includes papermaking fibers, is substantially free of synthetic fibers, and has an absorbent capacity of at least about 8 grams of the wetting composition per gram of the dry multi-ply tissue (g/g) as measured in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM International) standard D4250. A single ply of the multi-ply tissue has a basis weight of at least 8 pounds per 3,000 square foot ream (lb/rm).

Abstract: A towel dispenser includes a housing mounted to a wall and defining an interior space for receiving toweling comprising a roll of towels, the interior space comprising a curved surface configured to receive the roll of towels in floating engagement therewith such that the roll of towels rolls and slides on the curved surface during unwinding of the roll of towels. The towel dispenser further includes a loading door configured to rotate relative to the main body, when the main body is mounted to a wall, between a closed position in which the loading door extends over a top of and closes off the interior space of the main body in which toweling is received, and an open position, in which the housing is configured to receive toweling therein without obstruction by the loading door, with the loading door extending upwardly above and over a top of the housing.

Abstract: An example sheet product dispenser includes a housing, a first roll holder, and a second roll holder. A first roll of sheet product is positioned on the first roll holder and assigned as a primary roll and a second roll of sheet product is positioned on the second roll holder and assigned as a secondary roll. A dispensing mechanism is configured to dispense sheet product from at least one of the first roll and the second roll. A sensor is configured to sense measurement data associated with the primary roll, including sensing when the primary roll rotates to dispense and measuring the diameter of the primary roll. A data communication device is in communication with the sensor and configured to transmit the measurement data. A controller is configured to determine situational information regarding the sheet product dispenser and provide corresponding alerts to users regarding the situational information and measured data.

Abstract: A package for a product has a rigid package body and a handle for carrying the package. The rigid package body has at least six faces and a reclosable opening on a face of the rigid package body. The handle is positioned over the reclosable opening and has a first strap, a second strap, and a connection portion. The first strap includes a first end and a second end. The first end of the first strap is attached to one face of the package body. The second strap includes a first end and a second end. The first end of the second strap is attached to another face of the package body that is opposite to the face that is attached to the first strap. The connection portion is located on the second end of the second strap and is detachably engaged to the second end of the first strap.
Abstract: A system for fabricating a sheet product. A first rotatable roller includes a rotatable drum portion having an outer surface that rotates about a rotational axis in a first direction and conveys a sheet product. The rotatable drum portion also has a plurality of ports communicative between an inner surface and an outer surface. The ports extend along and around the drum portion. The first rotatable roller emits a pressurized fluid. A second rotatable roller has an outer surface arranged proximate to the outer surface of the rotatable drum portion of the first rotatable roller, and a heat source portion to heat the second rotatable roller to dry the sheet product. The second rotatable roller rotates in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction. A gap is defined between the second rotatable roller and the first rotatable roller through which the sheet product passes.
Abstract: Soft absorbent sheets, structuring fabrics for producing soft absorbent sheets, and methods of making soft absorbent sheets. The soft absorbent sheets have a plurality of domed regions or projected regions extending from a surface of the sheets, and connecting regions form a network between domed regions. The domed and projected regions include indented bars that extend across the domed and projected regions in a substantially cross machine direction of the absorbent sheets. The absorbent sheets can be formed by structuring fabrics that have long warp yarn knuckles.
