  • Patent number: 7326855
Abstract: A device for stacking wires or cables is provided. The device includes an attachment portion capable of attachment to a stud or other anchor, and a wire or cable receiving portion connected to the attachment portion. The wire or cable receiving portion has a plurality of segments which form a generally serpentine-shaped spine, thereby providing a plurality of wire or cable receiving slots. A pair of spaced apart tabs extend from each main portion. Each said tab has an end attached to the respective main portion and an opposite end which is free. Each tab curves outwardly and downwardly from the respective main portion and at least partially overlaps the respective wire or cable receiving slot.

  • Patent number: 7150589
Abstract: A deburring tool includes a proximal cutter and a distal cutter which form a V-shaped groove within which a workpiece is positioned to remove burrs from both sides of the workpiece simultaneously. The cutting edges of the proximal and distal cutters do not include any under cuts and therefore can be formed using a powdered metal process.

  • Patent number: 7112016
Abstract: An arbor assembly includes a shank mounted to the chuck of an electric drill, an adaptor which supports a hole saw mounted to the shank, and a sleeve for locking and unlocking the adaptor and the shank. Rotational forces from the drill are transferred to the adaptor to rotate the hole saw. The sleeve slides along the outer surface of the shank and allows a user to quickly change the hole saw. With the sleeve in the unlocked position, the adaptor easily slides out of the shank, a new adaptor is inserted into the shank, and the sleeve is then placed in the locked position prior to rotation of the drill.

  • Patent number: 6990888
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for use with a hydraulic control mechanism of a hydraulic tool. The hydraulic control mechanism is attached to the hydraulic tool to provide a desired hydraulically powered function. The mechanism allows the hydraulic control mechanism to be used with either a constant volume hydraulic system or a constant pressure hydraulic system. The mechanism provides a valve chamber and a valve member positioned within the valve chamber. The valve chamber communicates with both a central passageway and a cross passageway of the hydraulic control mechanism. The valve chamber defines a valve seat proximate to one of the central and cross passageways. The valve member is displaceable within the valve chamber and is configured such that, depending on the position of the valve member within the valve chamber, the hydraulic control mechanism can be used with either a constant volume hydraulic system or a constant pressure hydraulic system.

  • Patent number: 6981327
Abstract: A two piece punch is provided for use in a punch assembly. The punch includes a generally disc shaped cutter and a cylindrically shaped nut. The punch is assembled by passing a portion of the nut through an aperture in the cutter. The punch is mounted to the remainder of the punch assembly by fastening the nut to the draw stud. As the punch becomes worn, use of the nut continues while the cutter is removed and replaced.

  • Patent number: 6973729
Abstract: A knockout punch is provided with a member such that when the punch and the die are drawn together by the draw stud to make a hole in a workpiece, the member on the punch will locate the punch assembly in a pilot hole. In three embodiments of the invention, the member is formed integrally with the punch and extends from the punch proximate to a bore in the punch which is used to connect the punch to the draw stud. In another embodiment of the invention, the member is provided as an insert which is connected to the punch within a counterbore. The punch is also provided with a pair of piercing portions for piercing through the workpiece after the member has centered the punch assembly with the pilot hole and a pair of cutting portions for shearing the workpiece after the piercing portions have pierced the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6908250
Abstract: A tool is provided and includes a hook member which is attached to an extendable and retractable pole member, and a retainer which can retain the pole member in a collapsed position. The hook member is used to twist a short portion of a workpiece around a long portion of a workpiece in order to secure the short portion to the long portion when the workpiece is hung from an overhead support member. The retainer retains an inner pole of the pole member within an outer pole of the pole member when the pole member is in a collapsed position.

  • Patent number: 6772521
Abstract: A hydraulic punch driver which includes a hydraulic pump section a hydraulic ram section, and a hydraulic hose which connects these two sections together. Because the hydraulic hose is flexible, the operator is able to manipulate the ram section such that it can be positioned at an angle relative to the pump section; a hose guard can be provided on the hose to protect the hose and to prevent overflexing of the hose. Such flexibleness allows the operator to use the punch driver in virtually any position such that the ram can operate as necessary and the operator can operate the pump handle, regardless of the environmental conditions of the place of use. The pump section also includes a coupler which allows a handle thereof to swivel 360 degrees to further allow the operator to grip and actuate the pump handle with maximum comfort.

  • Patent number: 6766581
Abstract: A tool for cutting/crimping a workpiece, such as a cable, includes an automatic rapid blade advance such that a blade on a movable jaw of the tool advances toward cutting the cable every time the handles of the tool are closed. The automatic rapid blade advance also advances the blade on the movable jaw toward cutting the cable every time the handles of the tool are opened up until the blade on the movable jaw first encounters a resistive force from the cable. The tool also includes an automatic blade return such that the blade on the movable jaw will automatically return to its original position after the blade has cut through or crimped the cable.

  • Patent number: 6735870
Abstract: A cutter for cutting cable, such as fiber optic cable, and a method of using same is provided. The cutter includes a pair of opposite members that are joined together at a joint such that the opposite members move in conjunction with each other. Each member has a handle on one side of the joint and a cutting blade on the opposite side of the joint. When the handles are forced together, the cutting blades are also forced together. The cutter also includes a clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism is used to clamp the fiber optic cable on either side of the cutting blades such that the strength reinforcement strands of the fiber optic cable will be placed in tension, prior to the cutting of the strength reinforcement strands within the fiber optic cable, thereby ensuring a clean cut by the cutting blades.
