Patents Assigned to Hankook Tire Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 9393750
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method of coating a sealant composition to an inner surface of a tire, and a tire manufactured by the same. The method includes extracting coordinates for coating a sealant composition with reference to a central point of a target tire using a computer-aided design (CAD) file of the target tire; setting robot moving coordinates and setting a coating width based on the extracted coordinates; and coating the sealant composition while moving a nozzle provided to a robot arm and ejecting the sealant composition toward the set coordinates.

  • Patent number: 9333799
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a non-pneumatic tire with a reinforcing member. The non-pneumatic tire includes a tread part which comes into contact with the ground, a rim part which is coupled to an axle, an outer annular band part which forms an interface with an inner surface of the tread part, an inner annular band part which forms an interface with the rim part, a spoke part which is disposed between the outer annular band part and the inner annular band part and functions as a support, a connector which connects spokes of the spoke part to each other, and a reinforcing member which has a plate wire structure. The non-pneumatic tire can effectively and sufficiently withstand the weight of a vehicle. Further, the performance of the tire is balanced with respect to the contact area, the displacement extent and the resistance to rolling.

  • Patent number: 9321909
Abstract: Provided are a rubber composition for tire containing raw material rubber and cellulose whiskers, and a tire produced from the same composition and having excellent general properties. Since the rubber composition for tire contains cellulose whiskers having superior reinforcing properties than rubber reinforcing materials, the rubber composition for tire can provide a tire having markedly enhanced properties compared to tires using the conventional rubber reinforcing materials. Also, when cellulose whiskers are applied to the rubber composition for tire, the content of the conventional rubber reinforcing materials can be reduced. As a result, the elongation ratio and low-fuel consumption performance that have been considered poor due to the use of conventional rubber reinforcing materials can be improved to a superior level, and a lightweight tire can be provided.

  • Patent number: 9315611
Abstract: A polyurethane foam which is obtained by a reaction between a diol component and a diisocyanate component, with the diol component being a mixture of a polyether-based diol and a polyester-based diol, and a pneumatic tire to which the polyurethane foam is applied are provided. When a soft polyurethane foam is produced using a mixture of a polyether-based diol and a polyester-based diol as the diol component, and by varying the content of the expanding agent during the production process, and when the polyurethane foam is disposed in the cavity of a pneumatic tire, the polyurethane foam thus produced has an effect of reducing the resonance noise generated in the cavity of the tire and improving durability of the tire.

  • Patent number: 9290053
Abstract: A non-pneumatic tire for a vehicle is disclosed. The non-pneumatic tire includes a tread, a rim part, inside and outside annular bands, a spoke member, and a pair of protective films. The tread comes into contact with a road surface. The rim part is connected to the axle of a vehicle. The inside and outside annular bands are disposed between the tread and the rim part, and are coaxially spaced apart from each other. The spoke member includes supports disposed in a predetermined pattern and configured to connect the inside and outside annular bands, and openings defined by the supports. The pair of protective films are disposed at both ends of the tire in the widthwise direction of the tire, and prevents foreign substances from infiltrating into the openings of the spoke member. The protective films are made of the same material as the spoke member and integrated with the spoke member.
