Abstract: In a process and an arrangement for picking up a yarn end of a spool during piecing at a spinning unit which produces packages with double yarns which are used as feeding packages for a twisting operation, it is provided that, in the case of a yarn breakage, the winding-up and the spinning operation is interrupted in such a manner that the unbroken yarn of the double yarn is held in a yarn pick-up position, from which it is picked up during the piecing by means of a suction gripper which can be applied to the yarn pick-up position. After an unsuccessful piecing attempt, this suction gripper is applied to the circumference of the spool in order to still be able to take up the double yarn even then. In the event of a double yarn breakage, the suction gripper is movable to the circumference of the spool yarn seeking position, without first moving to the yarn pick-up position.
Abstract: In the case of a spinning machine having a plurality of drafting units, which each contain several top rollers and bottom rollers, and in which the bottom rollers are each constructed as roller sections which can be individually separated form a central drive, it is provided that the bottom rollers are constructed as hollow cylinders which are disposed on stationary shafts.
Abstract: In the case of a drafting unit for a spinning machine, a loading support is provided which has two arms extending in parallel with respect to one another at a distance which accommodate the holding devices for the shafts of the pressure roller twins and which are reinforced to form a frame by means of cross-struts. In addition, a cover is provided which covers the loading support and the pressure rollers and which can be swiveled away without interrupting the spinning operation.
Abstract: In the case of a spinning machine having a plurality of spinning units which are arranged next to one another and to each of which a sliver is fed from a container, a movable servicing device is provided which contains devices for the picking-up of the starting portion of a new sliver from a readied container and for the connecting of this sliver with the end portion of the old sliver entering into the respective spinning unit.
Abstract: In the case of a machine system for the processing of sliver having a first machine, which produces sliver and deposits it in containers, and having a second machine, which processes the sliver from the containers, this second machine being connected with the first machine by a conveying device for the containers, it is provided that automatically operating devices are assigned to the first machine, for the gripping of the end portion of the sliver deposited in each container and for the fixing of this end portion at a specified point of the respective container.
Abstract: In the case of a drafting unit for a spinning machine, it is provided that the pressure roller and the bottom roller of the pair of delivery rollers have a smaller diameter than the pressure roller and the bottom roller of the preceding pair of rollers, and in that the thickness of the covering of the pressure roller of the pair of delivery rollers amounts to at least approximately 4 mm. The bottom roller of the pair of delivery rollers has a profiling, the depth of which is no larger than 0.4 mm.
Abstract: In an arrangement for the intermediate storing of a yarn at a spinning machine between a delivery device and a device which establishes a yarn connection during a piecing operation, a suction pipe is provided which stores the continuously supplied yarn in the form of a loop. The suction pipe is bent or curved in such a manner that it has supports for the yarn strands of the loop, these supports being separated from one another in axial direction with respect to the bending axis.
Abstract: In the case of a drafting unit for spinning machines, it is provided that the bottom roller and the pressure roller of a pair of delivery rollers have smaller diameters than the preceding pair of rollers, and that the pressure roller of the pair of delivery rollers is designed to have a smaller diameter than the pertaining bottom roller.
Abstract: A spinning machine is disclosed which includes a sliver feeding device for introducing sliver into a spinning unit from a sliver container. To accommodate picking out the starting portion of a new sliver from a container and for connecting it with an end portion of the old sliver entering the spinning unit, apparatus is provided for picking up the new sliver and supporting the same in such a manner that the old sliver and the new sliver overlap one another in the area of the sliver supporting device adjacent the inlet area of the feeding device of the spinning unit.
